What happens when Picture Love stops being an idea and becomes something we actually experience?

What if we didn’t wait until we were completely depleted, before accepting support?

In this episode, we’re talking about filling the tank before the warning light comes on. I’m sharing a recent flat-tire adventure that reminded me how quickly we can move from frustration into noticing the support, solutions, and kindness already surrounding us.

This isn’t about pretending difficult things aren’t difficult. It’s about practicing the pause between “this happened” and “now what?” so we can meet life with a little more clarity, compassion, and capacity.

When was the last time someone asked how you were doingand waited, truly listening and responding in a way you felt truly witnessed?

In this episode of the Picture Love Podcast, we’re exploring the simple but powerful gift of being seen, heard, and witnessed without being fixed, judged, compared, or rushed.

A memory of one unusually present doctor stayed with me for more than twenty years because of something incredibly simple: he looked at me, asked how I was, and responded with care, proving he listened.

That moment reminded me of how deeply human beings need presence.

We’ll also wander through a few unlikely teachers, as we explore the balance between noise and quiet, solving things ourselves and “phoning a friend,” and knowing when someone needs advice versus simply needing us to listen.

And maybe today’s Picture Love practice is beautifully simple:

Look someone in the eyes.
Listen a little longer.
Let them know they matter.

When the world feels overwhelmed by fire, fear, loss, and difficult news, what can we offer besides more worry?

This guided meditation was created in response to the devastating wildfires affecting communities, wildlife, forests, and the Earth.

Together, we will ground our feet in healing waters, soften the body, calm the nervous system, and imagine nourishing rain reaching every place it is needed.

I'm not claiming that our thoughts alone can end a wildfire. But what if they COULD?Wouldn’t we WANT TO think the flames out, or at the very least, choose more supportive thoughts in support of those directly affected? 

This is not an invitation to deny what is happening. It is an invitation to offer something steadier than fear.
