Episode One: "Ash and Salt"
In the pilot episode of Pieces of Eight: A Skull & Bones Story, a pirate legend begins not with glory—but with fire, hunger, and blood. Captain Rajiv Rhys Davies, born of a British officer and a Punjabi rebel, recounts the brutal path that forged him: from the ashes of a colonial massacre to the violent corridors of a Company-run orphanage in Calcutta. Starving, beaten, and alone, Rajiv escapes into the chaos of the docks, where a fateful encounter with the infamous pirate lord "Bloody" Ben Stirling sets his course for the sea..
Under Stirling’s mentorship, Rajiv rises through the ranks, learning the harsh truths of piracy, survival, and legacy. But when a high-stakes mission goes violently wrong, the cost is catastrophic. Rajiv is left for dead in the wreckage of the British ambush, clutching a scorched ring and the last threads of a shattered fleet.
Rescued by the sharp-tongued smuggler Asnah Yatim, Rajiv begins to rebuild—from the tide up. Together, they recruit a new crew of misfits and outlaws and lay the foundation for a ghost ship that sails without a flag… and bows to no empire.
This is the birth of The Ghost Maiden. And the beginning of a reckoning.
