Piecing It Together Podcast

n the 72nd episode of Piecing It Together, Bee Garner returns to the podcast for another weird A24 film. This time we're covering what very well may be the strangest, most difficult to crack film of the year, High Life. Claire Denis has created something unique and one-of-a-kind, and Robert Pattinson gives another amazing performance. Puzzle pieces include Moon, Under The Skin, Children of Men, and Dogtooth.

As always, SPOILER ALERT for High Life and the movies we discuss!

The song at the end of the episode is “Pulse" which is a piece of music from a game I made called Breaker Breaker. It may eventually be released as part of a compilation of music I've made for games.

On the 71st episode of Piecing It Together, film-critic Josh Bell joins me for one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Ari Aster's sophomore effort, Midsommar. It's an insane trip into the Swedish countryside filled with lots of strangeness and an excellent central performance by Florence Pugh. Puzzle pieces include mother!, Dogville, The Witch and the films of Wes Anderson.

As always, SPOILER ALERT for Midsommar and the movies we discuss!

On this special episode of Piecing It Together, film-critic Josh Bell joins me to discuss our favorite movies of 2019... so far. With only one movie that made both of our lists, it's a great conversation about a whole lot of movies that you should check out if you haven't yet.

There will also be a blog post up this week with my full ranking of all the movies I've seen this year.

As always, SPOILER ALERT for all the movies we discuss!

On the 70th episode of Piecing It Together, an old friend from summer camp where we used to discuss horror movies all night joins me to discuss the remake of one of those now classics... Child's Play. Yes, Chucky the killer doll is back, but as you'll find from our conversation, this isn't the same Chucky from the old movies. Puzzle pieces include It, A.I., King Kong and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

As always, SPOILER ALERT for Child's Play and the movies we discuss!

On the 69th episode of Piecing It Together, new co-host Phil A from the Las Vegas-based hip-hop group Slump Lords joins me to discuss Jim Jarmusch's zombie comedy The Dead Don't Die, starring Bill Murray and Adam Driver. Those not familiar with Jarmusch's deadpan style may be shocked at the zombie-like pacing, but if you like dry humor, this is definitely one to watch. Puzzle pieces included Shaun Of The Dead, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Evil Dead 2 and the films of George A. Romero.
