Piecing It Together Podcast

On the 13th episode of Piecing It Together, co-host Ryan Daugherty and I reunite, just as Tommy Wiseau & Greg Sestero of The Room do for this second volume in the Best F(r)iends saga. Best F(r)iends Volume 2 is a completely different movie than the first one, and is a finale to the story that answers some questions, raises more, and is another insane ride to add to the Tommy Wiseauniverse. Puzzle pieces (inspirations) include the films of the Coen Brothers and Quentin Tarantino, Psycho, Adaptation and Saw.

As always, SPOILER ALERT for Best F(r)iends Volume 2 and all the movies we discuss.

On the 12th episode of Piecing It Together, we're back with a break from giant superhero movies to focus on a more personal story featuring heartfelt themes and moving drama... Just kidding, we're talking about Deadpool 2, the raunchy, violent, bloody action-comedy superhero sequel starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the mouth and a great expanded cast featuring Josh Brolin, TJ Miller, and Zazie Beetz. After the first Deadpool came out of nowhere and set all kinds of records, this sequel had a lot to live up to, and we get deep into whether or not it did the series justice. Puzzle pieces include Shoot Em' Up, Spaceballs, Terminator 2 and Problem Child.

As always, SPOILER ALERT for Deadpool 2!

Send Help Live Show

For our 500th episode we'll be LIVE from Maya Cinemas in Las Vegas for SEND HELP, the return of Sam Raimi to horror! More details at https://www.piecingpod.com/2026/01/26/send-help-live-show-thursday-january-29th-in-las-vegas/

Another quick mini-episode to hold us over until the next full episode of Piecing It Together. Truth of the matter is we're doing this one for two reasons... 1) I needed an "episode" to test uploading through our new website, https://www.piecingpod.com with! And 2) I've been teasing the fact that my new album, A Different Kind Of Dream was coming soon for a long time now, and as of last Friday, May 18th, it's finally here... So I figured what better way to make a quick mini-episode to test the site with than to let you all hear the new album for free!

A Different Kind Of Dream is my 4th album of instrumental music. This also marks the beginning of a new phase in my career where I'll be releasing more music, much more often, without the constraints of the regular album release cycle. I wanted to get these 10 songs out there right away, but after this, I'll be releasing singles, EPs, compilations and remixes as they're finished. There will be a stream of new music coming your way... Nearly as regularly as you'll be getting new Piecing It Together episodes... Which I promise we should be back on track with new episodes of next week!

I hope you enjoy A Different Kind Of Dream and I hope you forgive me for kind of "U2-ing" you all by auto-downloading my album to your phones (if you don't get the reference you're probably too young to remember that whole Apple iTunes / U2 thing a decade ago). If you dig the album, I hope you'll consider buying it on iTunes or at least continuing to listen to it through streaming services like Apple Music or Spotify. There will be a limited edition physical CD release available later this year too on my Bandcamp and CD Baby sites with bonus tracks... Oh and if you don't want to buy it, you can also really help me out by leaving a review of the album on iTunes. Just like it helps with this podcast, it helps with my albums too!

If you'd like to know more about my music, you can check out my website at http://www.bydavidrosen.com where I've got a composer reel, samples of my film scoring work, links to all my music videos and albums and more.

Last but not least, make sure to check out our new website! There's still a few things we're finishing up but it's basically done and ready for you all to check out now! https://www.piecingpod.com

On this quick mini-episode of Piecing It Together, I take a look at some of the movies that I am looking forward to over the next few months. This is really a place-holder since I'll be out of town for 10 days and I'll be getting back to town literally the day this episode posts... So rather than skip a week, I figured I'd record a little something to hold you over. So no, this is not our normal format in which we look at a new movie and try to figure out what other movies inspired it... This is just a fun little mini-episode.

The song at the end of the episode is called "Head On Fire" from my album Head Like Fire.

Also, today, May 18th is the release of my new album A Different Kind Of Dream. This album is available now on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Bandcamp and pretty much anywhere music is available. Check it out and thanks so much for your support. You can find more about the album on my Music by David Rosen website, wwww.bydavidrosen.com
