Our society can't wait for one holiday to be over before we're putting up stuff for what's next. We're frantically moving from one holiday to the next.
The Valentine's Day cards won't be opened before someone's putting up St. Patrick's Day stuff. Then Easter. Then 4th of July. Then Labor Day. Halloween. Thanksgiving. And it'll be Christmas again before we know it.
But were we ever at Christmas to begin with? Truth is, lots of people came to our Christmas Eve services and didn't hear a word that was said because they were worried about dinner and wrapping and batteries and travel and a million other things.
So, I want to take this Sunday to remind everyone what God says in v. 10: "Be still, and know that I am God. Take a deep breath. Calm down. I've got this. I made the sun come up (again). I am in control of things. You can relax. Resign your post as governor of your little world; I've got that covered."
