From Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" to the discovery of a star called "Beetlejuice," we have unlimited examples of the unfolding universe to resize us and change our perspective. Whether it's the Grand Canyon or the coastal Redwoods of California, the world has a way of resizing us in the best way. And it works the other way, too. The human eye is the most technologically advanced operation in the known world. 

We are fearfully and wonderfully made by a star-breathing, ocean-taming, mysterious Creator. God will hold all things together.

Andy King shares on politics and theological debates in the context of Ephesians 2:11-18. Jesus' death on the cross has united groups into one, breaking down the walls that separate us. With February being Black History Month, Andy recalls the story of T.C. Williams high school in Alexandria, VA, the segregation, and the steps taken to bring two different races together for a common cause.

"He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us."

Krissy King takes on Jesus' parable of the banquet in Luke 14. This is about the table, and who's invited. This isn't our table to preside over because it's God's table. We don't get to decide. So, let's scour the streets for the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind.

"Sometimes we’re tasked with speaking up to include another human. Sometimes we get it wrong. But the good news is that when we know better, we can do better. We can choose to include and invite even those who are different than we are.  And the best part of this good news is that the party starts now. Surprise! We’re here. Here’s the table. Eat. Drink. Partake."

Jesus was emphasizing the importance of the PRESENT in this passage.

We need to get back our TODAY, and we've been given the power to give others back their TODAY. Our shame, guilt, mistakes and condemnation do not get the final say in Jesus. "It is finished."

"If I'm honest, this is what I really pray when you dig beneath the surface: 'My Kingdom come, My will be done, on earth as it is in my mind.'"

Andy King shares about memories from childhood, and how they impact life today.

It’s much safer to believe in the things we can see with our eyes, today. What we see is all we know. The predictability of it. The control. We love the known. But the unknown, aah, that’s where 90% of true reality lies. Life continues to unfold for each one of us as long as we are willing to see the world through the eyes of our 7 year-old imagination & belief that each new discovery, every open door, will lead us into something greater than we can ask or even imagine.

Krissy King shares on the 3rd week of Advent.

"I kind of think that Joy is knowing and feeling the presence of the "Ison." [The low-droning bass note present in some songs, and specifically ancient Byzantine chants.] And joy is also knowing that even in experiencing the absence of that bass note, we can lean over to someone next to us, and honestly say, “I can’t feel it right now. I can’t hear it. But I know it’s coming back.” Nothing can take that love, that ground away."

Andy King shares on the difficulties of walking together in peace in today's polarized society.

“He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.” Isaiah 11: 3-4
