Airlines are becoming more and more diverse, but there is still a large imbalance when it comes to pilots' race, gender, and orientation. Karl Nero is an airline captain in Chicago who regularly volunteers with the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) encouraging young people who want to become involved in aviation.

Desmon grew up flying with his dad, but it wasn't until he was 40 that he got his first pilot certificate. From there, his passion for and experience in aviation has absolutely skyrocketed. He is one of the premier gyroplane professionals in the world, assisting in accident investigations and providing incredible instruction.
