On this episode of Pilsners & Politics, Benjamin and Vinny sit down with a familiar face, Tiffany, to discuss the guilty verdict handed down in what was perhaps the most polarizing trial of our time; the trial of Derek Chauvin.  Tiffany sheds some light on the legal process moving forward as this case is likely heading toward appeal.  What is the appeals process and on what grounds can they appeal?  Can this case be taken to the US Supreme Court or has one with a similar fact pattern already been ruled on?  Tiffany answers these questions and more!

Benjamin, Vinny and Tiffany also discuss some of the pivotal points in the trial  and wonder if Derek Chauvin ever had a chance at a fair trial to begin with.  How big of a role did the media play in the overall outcome?  Was due process given to Derek Chauvin in this case or had the media found him guilty before weighing the evidence available?

In conjunction with the most recent police shooting, the world is also paying close attention to the neighboring City of Minneapolis as Derek Chauvin is on trail for the death of George Floyd.  Is the State of Minnesota making a compelling argument to the jury that George Floyd was in fact murdered or has the defense planted a seedling of doubt in the jurors minds?  Has anyone noticed that the analyst panels on HLN and CNN seem to be providing a false narrative to the viewers about what they are seeing take place in the courtroom?

The take away from Matt's interview will undoubtedly leave our listeners with a small blueprint on how to move forward locally and how it can easily translate nationally.  It served as a gentle reminder that not all hope is lost, despite all the partisan politics currently taking place in Washington (DC).

Benjamin and Vinny sit down with our special guest Chris to discuss the blatant disregard for our God given rights, specifically, the second amendment. Did you know the Biden Administration has asked the SCOTUS to allow the government to enter your home without a warrant to seize your weapons? If Americans don't find their courage, our Republic will be no different than any other country. There will be a ruling class (the political elite) and a working class, (the rest of us). 

Chris also touches on a very concerning topic that many Americans might not know about; the Smith-Mundt Act (Modernization Act).  Chris breaks this down and provides a common sense understanding of the act for our listeners.  Should 45 have done something more about this when he had the chance?

Is the lack of God in our lives causing there to be a breakdown of the moral and ethical fabric that once bound this country together?  Can a democrat like President Biden also claim to be a Catholic while espousing a pro-choice (pro-abortion) viewpoint?  Does politics have a place in religion or vice versa?  Has the Covid-19 pandemic made worship seem less important and vital to ones life?  If so, was the ultimate goal of the left to use Covid-19 as a vehicle to destroy this sacred institution and make religion less popular?

Benjamin and Vinny sit down with Tiffany, a former federal agent with the DEA turned law scholar, to talk about the the current push to defund the police.  Tiffany breaks down aspects of the George Floyd incident and also discusses the ramifications of the bill being introduced to the Senate, coined the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.  Tiffany provides insight as to what the police are up against moving forward and what, if anything, can be done to fight back against these progressively left initiatives that will ultimately put the American  law enforcement officer at risk along with the citizens of this great country. 

We need to defend the police, not defund them.  If you value your safety and security then you also need to value the health and safety of those that provide it as they are not mutually exclusive!
