Round 5 of chemo was a traumatic one! The round the lights went out.
I was on such a high after the pink party, I felt unstoppable. This energy sure came in handy during the next three rounds of chemo as things started to go down hill. I say that I danced with the devil during these treatments and that jerk was trying to push me right off the dance floor!
18 months ago I had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstructive surgery. This surgery left me missing a body part that I was pretty sad to lose but have learned to live without. This Christmas, my husband gave me the gift of getting this body part back!
Being a new survivor during a pandemic is not easy and the sacrifices my family are making are heroic. We are in this together and soon, it too shall pass!
I have planned and attended many events in my life, many were for charity. Never in my life did I think I would attend one that was planned for me!
It was the loss of my hair that really started to redefine who I was/who I am. Although it was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through, it taught me so many valuable lessons.
I was preparing for death and was so scared before my first round of chemotherapy. Listen to hear why you need to stay hydrated before chemo!
It has been a minute since my last recording but I am back to tell you what has kept me so busy the last few weeks!
All the feelings were felt yesterday, all across our beautiful province of Nova Scotia as children headed back to school. As a new survivor I was apprehensive but confident with our schools plan. To be alive during these crazy times is a beautiful thing! To be there yesterday to see my kids off, was the most amazing moment for me and I hope for you too! These time are crazy but the good is there, the love is there, you just need to find it and focus on it.

As the podcasts continue, I will be sure to elaborate on each treatment type and the side effects that I experienced. Thanks for listening!
