Well everyone has their hot(and cold)takes on the Bad Bunny half time show, so what is one more? Some people felt it reeked of agenda, others thought it was a much needed representation moment for a prevalent cultural group in our country who have been dealing with a lot of malignment of late. Im using this discourse to really explore the idea of cultural representation in a multi-cultural nation, to un-pack some of the one-sided lenses that people seem to apply to free speech ,and frankly, free will.

I'm also proposing that perhaps we can dislike something, that it can fail to resonate with us ,it can in fact not center us in any way, but it can still be valid and have every right to occur.

Piqued friends, the impossible has happened. I have found an easy and healthy way to maintain weight and energy. Maybe I’ll save one of you a good 20 years if you happen to be spinning your wheels and up to the same harebrained, diet-girl math, I was frying myself with. I break down my general history with the mess that is diet, health and body image, but-don’t worry-there is light at the middle(age)of the tunnel. Who knew it could be easier at 43 than it has ever been in my life. I really discovered that I was overcomplicating it all, and the neurosis contributed so heavily to the loop I was stuck in. I had thought now that my old tricks simply didn’t work  at my age and it was hard for this old dog to learn new ones, though that didn’t stop me from trying. I did learn  radical self acceptance and that confidence is a non negotiable, even if you are faking it till you make it. It is a powerful antidote to any funk you are fighting.  I’ll let you in on what decoded it all for me and-no-it was not a semaglutide.

Where does being as authentically yourself today, need to yield to being aspirational and striving to evolve, and where is the line before that teeters in to being too curated?  Is faking it till you make it just expressing your souls desires in action until your reality catches up?

This is my last episode of 2025, and that has me in a reflective mood. With the wrought national and global climate we are living in, I have found myself thinking about what is at play with the seemingly un-bridgeable chasm between these two polarized ‘camps’ of sorts. It came to me while bickering in a comment section(typical) that, for me at least, a lot of it comes down to choices. Our moral, ethical, social, political etc. choices. How we come to them, how we live with them, how they affect the whole, how we learn from them and how we proceed. I am committed to thoroughly investigating mine, and to keeping what serves and discarding what does not, but always acknowledging, owning, and accepting the choices I’ve made. Here’s to better choices and better dialogue in 2026.
