A mother and her daughter died after an accident that shut down part of I-70 in Washington County Sunday. The two-vehicle crash was reported just after 1 p.m. State Police say the driver of a westbound Toyota Camry lost control of the car, which went over the median and landed in the eastbound lanes before being hit by a tractor-trailer. The mother and daughter were ejected and the 18-wheeler crashed into a nearby home. The father and mother in the Toyota were not wearing seatbelts and the toddler was not in a car seat.

Overnight, County 9-1-1 dispatched Pittsburgh Police to the intersection of Saw Mill Run Boulevard and Bausman Street for reports of a male acting erratically and going in and out of traffic on foot. Officers encountered the male at the intersection of Saw Mill Run Boulevard and Warrington Avenue. The male initially attempted to enter the police vehicle, refused initial commands and was taken to the ground and placed in custody. Officers observed the male had injuries to his head, and apparent road rash on other parts of his body and requested EMS to the scene. As the male was being treated by paramedics, he experienced cardiac arrest and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is assisting in the investigation.

12 days remain until the primary election and the Democratic candidates in Pittsburgh's mayoral race met today for what is likely their last debate. Calvin Crew, the man found guilty of first degree murder for killing an Uber driver in 2022 has been sentenced today to a mandatory term of life in prison. The jury deliberated less than an hour before returning a guilty verdict in February. Crew was seen on video holding a gun to Christina Spicuzza's head before killing the mother of four.

At least 46-thousand people are expected to turn out for this year's Pittsburgh Marathon. The event's executive director Troy Schooley tells the Big K Morning Show that if the current forecast holds up, weather conditions should be perfect for the runners. He says they're also expecting over 200-thousand spectators on the course this year. Best locations to watch? According to Schooley, South Side, Bloomfield. the Strip and the North Shore.

Over 180-thousand customers are still without electricity in the Pittsburgh area going into day three of a massive power outage. 117-thousand Duquesne Light customers are off line and 79-thousand of them are in Pittsburgh. Communities with more than 3-thousand outages are: Gibsonia, Monroeville, Coraopoic and Allison Park. Penn Power is reporting 46-thousand outages in Allegheny, Westmoreland and Washington counties combined.

The owner of a Hazelwood crematorium is accused of swindling more than 65-hundred customers by dumping their pets' remains in a landfill and giving them the ashes of other animals. State Attorney General David Sunday says the pets were taken to Eternity Pet Memorial, operated by 70-year-old Patrick Vereb. The Penguins and coach Mike Sullivan have agreed to part ways. The announcement came this morning from GM Kyle Dubas. In a statement, Dubas said it "was not a decision that was taken lightly... but it was the best course forward for all involved." KDKA Radio Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn says a coahing opening in New York played a role in Sullivan's departure. Sullivan won 409 games in Pittsburgh, making him the Pens all-time wins leader.

New data on anti-Semitic incidents in 2024 is record breaking, according to the Anti Defamation League. The ADL recorded more than 93-hundred antisemitic incidents...across the country...last year. Rachel Sass...with the ADL Center on Extremism says... as far as *where* they're seeing it...The state with the highest levels of anti-semitic incidents is New York with over 1400.
