Well gee golly gosh darn it, this episode was originally going to be centered around this year's E3 likely getting completely cancelled, but then Microsoft had to go a pull a massive yoink and buy a major game publisher in Activision Blizzard. So I guess Kaylan and Adam had to maybe spend a little bit of time on that story as well...

The new year has begun and the first episode of 2022 of the PixelPlay Podcast is here! Returning from their two-week slumber, Kaylan and Adam rise once again to go over their review score guesses from 2021 and their predictions for gaming in 2022. They also talk about the now released specs of the PSVR2 and ask the question as to whether or not Days Gone was a flop.

It's the last show of the year and to celebrate a 2021 full of podcasts, Kaylan and Adam give their Top 3 Games of the Year and are joined by returning co-hosts Liv from Between2Gamers and Kevin from Project XTalk to give their thoughts as well.

This week, it's all about The Game Awards as Kaylan and Adam talk at length about all the interesting trailers and moments from the show, as well as finding out which of the two got the most guesses correct at who won the awards they took bets on a few episodes ago.

With Adam unable to due the show due to witness protection, CIA work, or...something around that, Liv from Between2Gamers joins the podcast for her second episode to talk with Kaylan about the potential new PlayStation Plus coming in the near future, the location of the next BioShock game, and what could potentially be showing up at The Game Awards on the 9th.

It's another VERY slow week in the gaming sphere, so Kaylan and Adam take the opportunity to do another Pressing Pause episode, where they talk at length about how they're tastes/interests in games have evolved through their life, and how they select newer games to play nowadays. They also do a fun personality quiz that spits out what game character they're most like, and Adam has an Untimely Review of Last Stop.

This week, Kaylan and Adam talk about the ongoing developments with Activision Blizzard, in particular the attempts by those within the company, as well as shareholders to remove Bobby Kotick from his position. They also talk about physical sales still being above digital sales and what that might mean. And they finish off with the current lawsuit by Take-Two against a team of modders who were releasing a patched version of GTA 3 and Vice City.

This week, Kaylan and Adam talk about the absolute dumpster fire that the GTA Trilogy remaster has been, as well as go through the list of nominees at this year's Game Awards and compete on which of the two get more awards correct. They also take a moment to reflect on the first year of the PlayStation 5, and Adam has an Untimely Review of the moving box unpacking game, Unpacking.

This week, with a very dry news week, Kaylan and Adam take a moment to dig into their bag of random topics, including introducing their significant others who don't play a lot of games into the medium, the concept of whether gaming is as interesting these days or just isn't the same anymore, and if we should be worried about Sony starting to lean towards Nintendo's way of pricing their games.

This week, Kaylan and Adam talk about Amy Hennig writing for a Marvel game, what that game might be and whether or not there's a burnout on Marvel properties. They also talk about the recent State of Play, and Kaylan has an Untimely Review for us with Deathloop.
