In the summer of 2018, Luna spent three nights at a crumbling Victorian boarding house in Pendleton, Ohio, cataloguing the belongings of a deceased antique dealer. The house was quiet, dust-choked, and smelled of dried lavender and something sour. On the second night, she noticed the wardrobe in the corner of the bedroom — a towering walnut piece with a warped mirror — seemed to shift when she wasn't looking. She'd turn her head, and the door would be open a crack wider. She'd shut it, and an hour later, it would be ajar again. Then the breathing started. Not hers. A slow, wet inhalation from inside the wardrobe, as if something was sleeping there, waiting for her to stop pretending she didn't hear it. This episode is about what she found when she finally opened the door, and what followed her out of Pendleton.
