Have you been wanting to pull your kids out of the public school system or wanting to avoid starting it at all, but you're totally overwhelmed with the idea of finding a curriculum that fits your life and energy AND you're child's attention span?
Meet Camila Johnson, a former public school educator with an master's degree in education with undergrad work in special education.
Her 14 years of work in the public school system revealed all the gaping holes in the education system and the lives it impacts. It broke her heart to see children prepared and wired to sit for long hours, perform for a grade, think what they're told to think, and ignore their biological constitution, curiosity, and aspirations.
Her work with middle schoolers made it obvious that the system wasn't teaching kids how to take real care of themselves or equipping them to handle their real lives and their real future.
SO!
She created Eden's Table, an herbalism-based unit study curriculum that integrates all parts of the required learning skills with holistic health and spiritual well-being. All while bio-hacking a child's natural curiosity and learning abilities through full-sensory engagement.
Today we get to have a girl chat about all things love of nature and how it impacts our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health and how the life coaching world for adults and education world for children can join hands to create a family environment where everyone thrives.
It's truly magical.
Give it a listen, and then DM me with questions!

What if the thing you're calling "falling apart" is actually the process of becoming?
We talk alot about becoming the woman God created us to be- but we don't talk nearly enough about the other side of transformation: UNBECOMING the woman we thought we had to be.
In this episode, I'm taking you into the painful, uncomfortable, deeply holy process of letting go.
Because sometimes God doesn't ask us to add another habit, another goal, another version of ourselves to the pile.
Sometimes He asks us to lay something down.
I share the story of the different seasons of my own life and the identities I've had to release along the way - from the woman whose worth was tied to achievement, career, control, and making everyone happy, to the woman who thought she could fix everything, carry everything, and know exactly how her life was supposed to unfold.
And then life changed.
Again.
and again.
and again.
Through motherhood, financial uncertainty, dreams that didn't unfold the way I expected, relationship betrayal, church hurt, and the painful dismantling of assumptions I had built my life around, I began to see something I hadn't understood before:
Becoming and Unbecoming are two sides of the same coin.
We'll talk about why transformation is often cyclical, why grief can exist alongside hope, what it means to walk by faith instead of sight, and why the things we lose aren't always evidence that we've failed.
Sometimes they're the very things God is asking us to lay aside.
Just like trees shed their leaves, animals shed old layers, and chickens molt their feathers in preparation for what comes next, we are also designed to shed.
The old version of you may have been familiar. She may even have been someone you liked. But that doesn't mean she's meant to come with you into the next season.
And here's the good news:
You don't have to choose between grieving who you're leaving behind, and being excited about who you're becoming.
You can do both.
You can be terrified and courageous. In this episode, we explore:
Why unbecoming is just as important as becoming.
The hidden grief that comes with personal transformation.
What motherhood teaches us about identity and loss.
How life seasons and cycles reveal patterns of growth.
The difference between sin and weight.
What it means to walk by faith instead of sight.
Why we cannot save, fix, or control other people.
The danger of allowing other people to define what following Jesus looks like.
How church hurt can force us to examine what we actually believe.
Why falling apart doesn't mean you're failing.
How grief and hope can coexist.
What trees, animals, and nature can teach us about spiritual growth.
Why the wilderness can feel more comfortable than the Promised Land.
What it means to trust God when the future is unfamiliar.
How God uses painful seasons to shape us into stronger, more grounded women.
1 Corinthians 4:16–18 — Being renewed day by day
Hebrews 12:1 — Laying aside every weight
Hebrews 12:7–12 — Discipline that produces the peaceful fruit of righteousness
1 Corinthians 13:12 — Seeing through a mirror dimly
Matthew 16:24 — Taking up your cross and following Jesus
1 Corinthians 6:12 — Not being dominated by anything
2 Corinthians 5:7 — Walking by faith, not by sight
Proverbs 31 — Strength, dignity, and laughing at the days to come
What are you carrying that God may be asking you to lay down?

Have you ever felt like you're just being blown through life, reacting to whatever comes your way?
In this episode of the Planted On Purpose Podcast, Aurie shares a lesson she learned while traveling through the California desert near Palmdale. As she watched tumbleweeds scattered across the landscape, she couldn't help but notice the difference between a plant with deep roots and one that has become disconnected from its source of life.
A tumbleweed doesn't choose its direction. Once its roots are gone, it simply goes wherever the wind takes it. And if we're honest, many of us live the same way when we become disconnected from God. We drift from one responsibility to the next, chasing productivity, approval, or control while feeling spiritually exhausted and emotionally depleted.
Aurie shares a personal reflection on a season when she felt spiritually dry and struggled to sense God's presence. Yet even during that difficult season, God was faithfully at work beneath the surface, sustaining her in ways she couldn't yet see. What felt like a wilderness season was actually a season of preparation and growth.
Drawing from Isaiah 43:19, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland," this episode reminds us that God specializes in bringing life to dry places. Even when our circumstances feel barren, He is still creating pathways for renewal, healing, and hope.
If you've been feeling burned out, spiritually disconnected, overwhelmed by motherhood, or stuck in a season that seems to have no end, this conversation will encourage you to trust that God is working even when you can't see the evidence yet.
The question isn't whether the wilderness exists. The question is whether we'll stay connected to the One who can bring streams into the wasteland.
Where does your soul feel dry right now? And what would it look like to trust God to provide refreshment before you can see it?
Until next time, stay planted in purpose and walk in the Son.

What are you rooted in?
In this episode of the Planted On Purpose Podcast, we're exploring a question that has the power to change everything about how we navigate stress, burnout, motherhood, and everyday life. Just like a healthy tree depends on a deep root system to access water and nutrients, we all draw strength from whatever we've chosen as our foundation.
The problem is that many of us unknowingly root ourselves in things that can't sustain us. We look to productivity for our worth, seek validation through other people's approval, or measure ourselves against what we see online. These sources may feel secure for a moment, but they leave us exhausted, anxious, and constantly striving for more.
Aurie shares a personal reflection about a season when life felt out of balance and how returning to God's truth became the anchor that restored peace, clarity, and direction. When our identity is rooted in Christ instead of circumstances, we can remain steady even when life feels uncertain.
Drawing from Colossians 2:7, "Rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught," this episode offers encouragement for Christian moms who are tired of living on an emotional roller coaster and are longing for a stronger spiritual foundation.
If you've been feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or disconnected from God, this conversation will help you identify what you're truly rooted in and inspire you to reconnect with the source that never runs dry.
Join us as we discuss faith, identity, spiritual growth, biblical encouragement, and practical ways to stay grounded in God's truth throughout the week.
Until next time, stay planted in purpose and walk in the Son.

Have you ever wished life could be easier? Have you ever wondered why God allows hard seasons, challenges, and setbacks when all you want is peace?
In this episode of the Planted On Purpose Podcast, Aurie Riley shares a fascinating story from a NASA Mars simulation experiment that revealed an unexpected truth about growth. Scientists successfully grew trees inside a controlled environment, but when the trees reached a certain height, they began falling over. The reason? They had never experienced wind.
Without resistance, the trees failed to develop the deep roots and strong trunks needed to support long-term growth.
The lesson is one every overwhelmed Christian mom needs to hear: the struggles you're facing today may be strengthening you for what lies ahead.
Just as wind causes trees to grow stronger root systems, life's challenges often develop the perseverance, character, and resilience we need to weather future storms. While we naturally want to avoid discomfort, hardship often becomes the very thing God uses to deepen our faith, strengthen our character, and anchor us more firmly in Him.
Aurie shares personal reflections on navigating difficult seasons, the temptation to avoid pain through distractions, and why true growth requires embracing discomfort rather than running from it. Through practical encouragement and biblical wisdom, you'll discover how God can use resistance to build spiritual strength and emotional resilience.
Drawing from Romans 5:3-4, this episode explores how suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. If you're walking through a challenging season of motherhood, burnout recovery, personal growth, or spiritual development, this conversation will remind you that your struggle is not wasted.
You may feel like you're being stretched, bent, or challenged right now, but God may be using this season to grow roots that will sustain you for years to come.
In this episode, you'll discover why resistance is necessary for growth, how hardship develops emotional and spiritual resilience, what NASA's fallen trees can teach us about strength, how God uses difficult seasons to deepen our roots, and why perseverance creates lasting hope.

Have you ever felt like you're doing all the right things but not seeing any results?
In this episode of Planted On Purpose, Aurie shares a powerful lesson from an unlikely teacher: the mesquite tree. While traveling through the deserts of West Texas and New Mexico, she discovered how mesquite trees spend years growing deep roots before showing much growth above the surface.
The same is often true in our lives.
If you've been frustrated by slow progress, tempted to chase the latest productivity hack, or discouraged because your growth isn't visible yet, this conversation will remind you that God is often doing His most important work underground.
We'll explore why consistency feels boring, how deep transformation happens beneath the surface, and what it means to send your roots toward the Living Water instead of constantly chasing surface-level change.
"They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:8
"Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst." John 4:14
The mesquite tree prioritizes survival before appearance. It spends years developing deep roots in search of water before investing energy into visible growth.
As moms, we often do the opposite. We focus on changing routines, schedules, and productivity systems while ignoring the beliefs and thought patterns driving our behavior.
Many of us quit because growth feels slow and repetitive. We mistake boredom for lack of progress.
In reality, consistency is often evidence that roots are forming.
The daily practices that seem insignificant today are creating stability, resilience, and strength that will support future growth.
Just as a tree must find water before it can flourish, we must stay connected to Christ before we can thrive.
When Bible reading, prayer, and spiritual connection become our first priority, everything else grows from a healthier foundation.
One of the biggest obstacles to transformation isn't failure—it's boredom.
Our brains crave novelty, causing us to abandon healthy habits just before they begin producing meaningful results.
Don't confuse a lack of excitement with a lack of progress.
