Plastic Cups Inside Paper Cups Inside Plastic Cups

Outro Song: Lover of the Bayou by The Byrds

This episode was recorded on June 4th after more than a week of nationwide protests following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis. This was a difficult episode to do, to say the least. We hope we did a decent job.

Some of the books and podcasts referenced during this episode are:

- Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

- I Can't Breathe: A Killing on Bay Street by Matt Taibbi

- Radiolab Presents More Perfect: Mr. Graham and the Reasonable Man (November 30, 2017)

- The Assassination of Fred Hampton: How the FBI and Chicago Police Murdered a Black Panther By Jeffrey Haas

Outro song is “This Land is Nobody’s Land” by John Lee Hooker

Once again, we delve into the depraved underworld of pickles, wonder unto ourselves why college athletes are being exploited, and peer into the deep dark void of animal husbandry. Outro song is: Memphis Slim - "My Dog Is Mean"

Omar and Denis jam on Hippo life, 90s jam bands and other things. Outro song is "Stick up" by Parish Brown and the Corinthians.

Omar and Denis answer the question that has plagued mankind for centuries: "Is podcasting easy or hard?" Also, we talk of the MJ documentary and dig into the tuberculosis sanitariums of the Adirondacks. Outro song is: Up on the Roof by The Drifters.

We have a full mail bag of questions to dig into. Like who would win in an arm wrestling contest, Omar or Denis? We also talk alternatives to the handshake and Hamilton Leithauser's new album. Closing track: The Rat by The Walkmen.

Life is still happenin' and Emma Max from The Woodlands cemetery joins us. Outro song is Lightnin' Hopkins: Shaggy Dag

Our first jobs, what's up with pet dogs, and an NBA season hypothetical. We cover all of that and more, on tonight’s Plastic Cups Inside Paper Cups Inside Plastic Cups. Outro song: Mama Don’t Like by J.J. Cale.

Omar and I keep it real with talk of bars and music and life during the pandemic. This episode was recorded on 3/26/20.
