GLP-1 drugs didn't come from a surgeon, but they've changed my field more than any new tool or technique ever did. I'm seeing a wave of patients with a problem almost nobody warned them about, and it's not where you'd expect. The scale goes down, but something else changes too, and most people don't notice until it's too late to easily fix.
In this episode, I'm breaking down what GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Zepbound are actually doing to your face and body, and what to do right now so you come out the other side looking like yourself instead of hollowed out.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Does Ozempic or GLP-1 weight loss age your face?
Yes. Rapid fat loss can drain the fat cushion under facial skin, causing hollow cheeks, deeper folds, and a face that looks older even though the body looks smaller. This happens because facial fat pads shrink just like fat anywhere else, and once that support is gone, skin has nothing to rest on.
Do GLP-1 medications cause muscle loss?
Without monitoring, resistance training, and enough protein, as much as half the weight lost on these medications can come from muscle instead of fat, which weakens the body and makes future body contouring surgery harder. Losing muscle instead of fat also changes how skin retracts, which can leave more looseness behind than expected.
How do you lose weight on GLP-1 drugs without losing muscle?
Eat roughly one gram of protein per pound of lean body weight, add two to three resistance training sessions a week, and get regular body composition scans to confirm you are losing fat, not muscle. These three habits together are the difference between a body that looks toned after weight loss and one that looks deflated.
