Easily one of my favourite skaters from the past ten years, Brian Weis has got a formidable catalogue of sections to his name, including a video he filmed exclusively for Wheel Scene. However, since releasing a VOD part for Vibralux two years ago, the only thing we have seen from him is the odd Instagram clip. I decided to check in and see if there is anything coming that we can look forward to and I was pleasantly surprised to find out there are a couple of things in the works. The second episode of our new podcast, Platform, is now online and this time we speak with one of the most recognisable ladies in blading, Coco Sanchez.

Coco has competed all over the world and was a member of the Rollerblade pro team, but she decided to relinquish that responsibility for personal reasons.

She was later flown out to Barcelona to promote the Razors Loca, a skate marketed towards female bladers, but found the experience so toxic that she ended up throwing the skates in the trash.

Coco offers an interesting insight into what it’s like being a woman in the blading industry, the sexism and discrimination she has faced that ultimately let to her stepping away from the industry, and her new life as a nomadic blader travelling around America’s skateparks.
