On Sunday, June 1, Texas Baptists presented two 2025 Legacy Awards, celebrating the heritage of Texas Baptists, to Gary Cook, higher education leader, and Charles R. Wade, a longtime pastor and leader in Texas Baptist life.

The Texas Baptists Legacy Award is presented annually at the Independence Baptist Church in Independence, Texas, in recognition of lifelong Christian service.

How can we respond to loved ones who are deconstructing their faith? How can we discern if they are truly seeking truth or seeking their own preferences? In this session, Alisa will talk about how to spot the signs of deconstruction and highlight some practical steps we can take to navigate relationships with those who are going through it.

A movement called ‘deconstruction’ is sweeping through our churches and it is affecting our loved ones. It has disrupted, dismantled, and destroyed the faith of so many. For some, it leads to a custom-made spirituality. For others, deconstructing their faith leads them away from the truth into agnosticism, atheism, the occult, or humanism. In this talk, Tim will help you understand what deconstruction is, where it comes from, why it is compelling to some, and how it disorients the lives of so many. You will be able to think through the main issues around faith deconstruction and explore wise and loving ways to respond from a biblical worldview.

There are three dominant strongholds (i.e. worldviews) that permeate our culture and hinder people from coming to a salvific knowledge of God. In this session, you will learn what they are, how to identify them, and how to respond accordingly.

Christians often think there’s something wrong about questioning or even doubting their faith. In this session, we’ll see that asking the big questions is not an option for disciples of Jesus even if we experience some doubts. We need to lean into these doubts in order to find truth, knowledge and even greater faith.
