We loosen our ties in this sister podcast where the only rule is NOT to talk about our game. In this episode, our main focus is competitive gaming, but we also chat about animal crossing and creating a narrative design document (it's cooler than it sounds).
This week we finally put together all of our work from the past few months and gave a quick recap! It's a quick 25-minute episode that touches on all of our systems and makes sure we're on track. Next week: Full Ability List. We also announced our new sister show "Designers in Recliners" which will debut next Friday!
Heyo! We start off talking about a mysterious Instagram that was made about us, then talk about combat. This week's episode is pretty short, because we cut out about 30 mins of debating over whose system would work better. It was a lot of thinking and debating that didn't really get anywhere, so let's just leave it off-air. Next week: Combat 2.0 and a total review of our work so far!
Happy Valentine's Day! This week we reveal our work on the Anarchy System, which is a system that will change how NPC's interact with players, depending on how chaotic the players are being. We also, unfortunately, talk about Gilmore Girls, because Tanner has lost his mind.
We watched the movie Everest, a 2015 film that depicts the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. Then, the two of us shared our thoughts on the movie itself and any ways that movie affected our game. Finally, we share our Disaster Creations systems and make plans for next episode!
We've been radio silent for about a month (blush emoji). The holidays were a blast though and we're glad to be back! In this episode, we praise Castle Falkenstein, polish our health system, reveal our skills, and do a little bit of scatting.
Hello everyone! This week we talk about Pirates of the Caribbean for some reason, then we explain how you would level up in our game, as well as what skills you could have. We're looking at "enthrallment", "swimming", and "biology" to name a few. Maybe by leveling up a certain skill you get a tiny robot, whose to say really. Next week: Character Stats and Health!
After a very productive meeting at our local McDonald's, we have a big update! Our game is no longer about saving people from natural disasters, it'll be about being one of those people and trying to survive. In this episode, we talk about why the sudden change and what parts of the game we're still keeping.
Hey folks! This week we talk about the core mechanics of our tabletop RPG, like how you would determine if you succeeded on an action and how you would create a character. We also briefly talk about our inspirations and some challenges we're facing. Next week: character classes!
This week we're joined by Brennen! In this episode, he'll be judging each of our tabletop RPG ideas and deciding which one we should focus on. Without spoilers, we'll say that Tanner's has a heavy focus on music and Aaron's has a heavy focus on Avatar: The Last Airbender (even though he's never seen it). It's guitar shredding versus water bending. What will he decide?
