Angela Birch, owner of Focus Fitness doesn’t see the world the same way most people do.
When asked the core question, her answer was simple:
Players and spectators.
Some people step into the arena. They take risks, make decisions without guarantees, and choose a path that often feels harder than it needs to be. Others build a life around stability, security, and predictability. Neither is wrong, but they lead to very different experiences.
After 20 years in corporate leadership, she walked away from stability to pursue entrepreneurship, opening and rebuilding fitness facilities from the ground up. It hasn’t been easy. Sleepless nights, constant pressure, and the weight of decisions that don’t always make sense to anyone else. But as she explains, for some people, the “safe” path isn’t even visible. That mindset shows up in everything she does.
From competitive bodybuilding to building businesses, to writing her book Strong Enough to Stand Alone, Angela operates with a level of persistence that borders on relentless. Her definition of determination is straightforward: keep going. Even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.
