When passing a man soaking up the sun in his electric wheelchair while blasting some 60's soul music, I knew I had to interview him about his favorite song at the moment: My Girl, by The Temptations. For this year's College Radio Day, the theme is "Voices For Peace," specifically relating to the war in Ukraine. Mark, owner of Sunshine Octopus, tells me about his favorite Grateful Dead song, some of the 620 shows he went to, and meeting the band. 

The version I used in the song snippet is the 1969 Fillmore West San Fran version. This was the first live version released, and is the first time most people heard this song. This song was considered the holy grail Grateful Dead song to see live, and only was played once between 1980-1989. It was played mostly in the early 70's. The studio version doesn't do it justice one bit.

I haven't had time recently to make full on episodes with interviews and all. So in this episode I play and briefly talk about some songs I've been enjoying since my last episode.
