If you're looking for non-candy Halloween treats, this episode is five toys you can hand out to trick-or-treaters for 80 cents or less each. 

I love a great treat, and candy is still the number one thing to hand out, but I like having a non-candy option too, especially for kids with dietary restrictions or food allergies. 

The usual choice is a trinket, like a Halloween pencil, an eraser or a plastic spider ring. They're super cute and they have almost no play value, so they usually end up in the junk drawer by November 1st. 

Here are my five picks instead: 

• Play-Doh Halloween sticks from Hasbro at about 30 cents, 
• Bookmarks from Oriental Trading Company at about 15 cents (add a 4-pack of crayons if you want to level up)
• Wikki Stix Halloween packs at about 40 cents
• Mini puzzles at about 80 cents
• Watercolor coloring cards with a paintbrush at about 50 cents. 

My favorite tips are to buy the fall bookmarks instead of the Halloween ones so they still work on November 1st, and to frame a mini puzzle so you have Halloween decor for next year.
