Paul's letter to the Philippians is, among other things, a kind of thank you note. He is grateful to his Philippians friends (and to God!) for their support of his mission work, and especially in his time of trial. As Paul commends them for their generosity, we glean some valuable lessons concerning giving to the work of the gospel ... and also concerning contentment as well! Listen in!

Baggage. We all bring it with us when we come to Christ. We have all been previously enslaved to a "futile way of life inherited from [our] forefathers." And yet Jesus has bought us back out of that slavery; He has paid our redemption price; He has set us free. The price? Not "silver or gold" but "precious blood" - His own! Listen in as we marvel at what Christ has done for us, and the price He paid in order to do it!

Listen in as Paul gives a marevelous bullet point list of Christian virtues. Stand back in wonder at the kind of beautiful, heavenly, attractive life that he is calling God's people to live. And then make application of what you hear!

In this passage Jesus gives us six parables to instruct us about "the kingdom of heaven." Listen in as we learn about the exclusivity of heaven, the surprise of heaven, and the value of heaven.

Listen is as Paul gives one of the greatest encouragements in all of scripture towards effort and growth in the Christian life.

King Asa was, in many ways, a good and godly king. He led his people in a spiritual reformation, and "did what was right in the sight of the LORD." And yet there was a key matter of obedience that slipped through the cracks during Asa's reign. Listen in as we consider what it was, and how we might be careful to avoid the same shortcoming in our own day.

Paul has been on both sides of the religious fence - understanding what it is to place confidence in himself, and in his own works to make him right with God; but also learning to "put no confidence in the flesh," but rather to "glory in Christ Jesus." Listen in as he explains how he has found the latter to be infintely better!

Romans 8.29-30 is often called 'the golden chain of salvation' -- tracing, as it does, God's saving love and works towards His elect, from eternity past to eternity future. Each link in the chain is precious and vital. So listen in as we consider them together: foreknowledge, predestination, calling, justification, and glorification.

Paul hopes that he himself will soon be released from prison, and come to see his friends in Philippi once more. But in the meantime, he is sending two of his best men to the church there, Timothy and Epaphroditus. Listen in as we consider Paul's commendations of these two worthy men, and how we ought to be worthy with them.

In Psalm 90 Moses is interested in the numbering of days ... measuring our fleeting lives in the light of God's eternallity. The psalm also answers the question of why our days are so short ... and concldes with a prayer for revival; a plea for the Lord to come to His people in blessing once more.
