PLUGHITZ Live Presents (Video)

Geneva Watch Group, one of the largest designers of watches in the world, was frustrated with the lack of visual design involved in the emerging smartwatch market. Where there is something that sucks comes the inspiration for a product, and so the FYI Watch line was born.

The FYI started with visual design, creating a stunning looking watch; something for which Geneva is known. Offering several faces, bands and colors there is an attractive FYI for anyone. But, behind the beauty is a full-featured Bluetooth enabled smartwatch. Text, call and email alerts, plus a proximity alarm to let you know you are leaving your phone behind all make this smartwatch, available now, a perfect balance.

Scanning paper documents is a great way to keep receipts, contracts, etc. organized and Neat has long been associated with document scanning and organizing. In fact, their product is easy enough to use that we've been using one for years.

Where do the documents get stored, though? Usually somewhere on your hard drive, meaning if the computer goes away because of theft, damage, etc. your documents go with it. You could set the Neat to scan to a OneDrive folder, but what if it could handle all of that for you?

Neat Connect: Direct to Cloud, a document scanner that scans directly to the cloud. Able to handle 15 business cards or receipts or 50 pages of regular documentation at a time, this scanner can certainly simply your home or office life.

Finding out how long to exercise is a challenge, even for the professionals. The team at ithlete have created a product to help you determine when you should exercise and for how long to maximize results.

For example, if you haven't slept well, an exercise session might not be as effective. Adding in the My ithlete finger sensor can even tell you what types of exercises are good at the moment. A green light suggests intense workout, red indicates more recovery time is needed.

The sensor, co-developed by the University of Sydney, and app are available now for $85.

It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since Tim Berners-Lee wrote the first standards for what would become the World Wide Web. In the time since March 12, 1989 the rules have changed a little and the industry has changed a lot.

The W3C is now in charge of the standards that are supposed to be followed on the Web, despite their incapability to enforce those standards. In the next 25 years, as music, healthcare, media content and more go online, the W3C expects to be involved in more of the world. As more software moves to native apps, however, the Web itself is on its way out.

MXL's Mobile Media microphones are designed to enhance the sound of videos recorded on a smartphone. Perry Goldstein said,

It's true, too. Any time I see a video with terrible audio, I move on. This device, which plugs into the microphone jack on any phone, allows you to mount the phone and hold it with a mounted external microphone. You can also monitor the audio as it is recording.

When combined with a top-quality camera phone, like the Lumia 1020, this could be an excellent replacement for a larger consumer video camera.

We've all seen the "I've fallen and I can't get up" commercial, and gag, enough times to know what it is about. We've probably also all thought, "What if she had been knocked unconscious?" The answer, of course, is that she would have just laid there and no one would have known.

That is why Mobile Help is here to change the panic alert. Instead of just hitting a button when you need help, this pendant uses sensors to know if the wearer has fallen and can alert EMTs to the location of the incident.

In addition, this pendant is cellular-enabled and had a GPS tracker included, which means it will work just about anywhere you might go. This is a nice change from the ones that are tethered to your home phone.

The complete system is available now for $40 per month.

Kids are creative; there is no getting around that. Unfortunately, the Internet is not a place for creative kids, because so many of the sites require users to be 13-years-old to post content.

KidzVuz is a free service that allows kids to create and publish video content in a safe place that is for them. All content that is uploaded to the site is owned entirely by the children, no data is ever collected about the uploaders and content can be completely deleted at any time. Also, after getting old enough to venture away from the system, and content that was posted can be transferred to YouTube, Vimeo or anywhere else without issue.
