The PnC Crew fills you in on unruly children at the park, and the Puritanical censorship of newly-released season 3 of Bluey on Disney Plus. Also, stick around for Deefy's plan to go live at the library or something and the men's adventure at the indoor waterpark. Up next: Hocus Pocus.
Are you getting as dogged by the Dog Days of 2022 as we are? Timmy Q and Thunderbutt 2600 embark on a remarkable escapade of sorts, mashing up two extraordinary outings into one voluminous voyage for your listening pleasure. That is, if watching some cute animals running from point A to point B is your idea of a good time. That's right, we're doing 1963's The Incredible Journey, the precursor to 1993's Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (which we're pretty much covering in its entirety as well.) So hunker down and let these animals do the walkin' while we do the talkin.'
Let's get together (yeah, yeah, yeah) for the most famous Haley Mills vehicle of all time, 1961's The Parent Trap! This is the progenitor for the one-kid-playing-two-kids movie and Haley Mills is the proto-Michelle Tanner. We also get a hot mom and a Steve Zahn meets John Wayne dad rekindling their toxic relationship at the behest of a couple of manipulative, albeit mind-fucked teenagers. Find out about Susan the Duckster, Mills' doppelganger, and a couple of rites of passage that happen for Haley on set. How much does a sprawling ranch with hundreds of acres in Monterrey, CA, go for in 2022 money? This gruesome twosome is here to real estate speculate! Yeah, yeah, yeah!
This was supposed to be part one of our Parent Trap coverage, but it ends up being Deefy talking about the Run the Jewels and Dethklok concerts he went to in Philly and Tim Q Mouse telling Deefy about the South Park 25th Anniversary show at Red Rocks. I opted to cut out that part just because it didn't make for entertaining listening if you weren't in the room. Catch the whole thing on Paramount Plus if you want. Stay tuned for the Parent Trap on the upcoming episode.
BRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNGGG!!! Class is in session for a couple of daft pupils! That's right, it's your boys Tim Q and Deefy boldly going where tons of people have gone before. Namely, a mediocre movie from 1961, The Absent-Minded Professor! If you've been needing that sweet sweet Tommy Kirk fix, look no further. Because guess what? He's in this! So's the saggier-faced analog of Andy Griffith, the lovable (maybe just likeable?) Fred McMurray! It's not Robin Williams, but this is the origin of the 1998 remake of Flubber. It's... fine. I guess. But who better to lead you through a sea of mediocre scientific pseudo jargon than a couple of seasoned Diz vets armed to the teeth with Malort? Nobody, says I! Sit back and lube up, cause we're about to flub the shit outta you!
"They're warm. They're wet. Just suck!" Perdeefa and Q-ella get all sooty in the conclusion to 1960's stylish masterpiece this week! Meet Disney's first fully fleshed out (if relatively emaciated) lady villain, Cruella DeVille and her henchmen Horace and Jasper, a.k.a. Guy Ritchie's Wet Bandits. Dodie will school us on how to punch a dog just right, and we'll learn where Rob Zombie got his inspiration for Dragula when Cruella gets behind the wheel. Grab a bag of Canine Crunchies and get ready to chow down on this tasty 'sode!
We continue our coverage of 1960's 101 Dalmatians with one of Deefy's deep dives into the artists who made this banger really hit the spot! Find out about Ken Anderson, Bill Peet, and Ub Ikeman, and discover how Walt started a years long feud by handing Ub a napkin at a party. It's a production ep!
Ok, so we're not the best at staying on a schedule, but we've missed all you Plussers and Cussers out there, so here's the first installment of our three part series on Disney's first animated feature of the swingin' Sixties, 101 Dalmatians! Some lady named Dodie wrote a book about some dogs who like snacks and a lady who likes pepper. It's.. fine. But hubba-hubba, homina-homina, wait till you get to the Pongos and their spicy liver-spotted unicorn, Perdita! Doggie thrupple? Don't mind if I do, AWOOOOOO! Lest you'd forgotten, its the Dog Days of 2022!
Hoooooo mannn.. It's been awhile! I had forgotten everything in this episode, but if anyone still gives a shit, it's worth a listen! So do it. Listen. Even if we don't deserve it, Haley Mills does. Also, Deefy talks about how he might need to add a hims subscription to his Lexapro regimen. Fun stuff!
Let's play the Glad Game! I'm glad that there's a new installment of Plussin' and Cussin' with your old pals Dr. Chill-Tim and Jimmy Deef! We're getting all hot and bothered in our petticoats over the unveiling of Disney's darling of the 1960's- Haley Mills- in her Oscar-winning debut as the plucky and lovable Polyanna. And we're gonna have a Zach Morris time-out to find out why Bayside High owes their existence to her. BRRRIIINNGGG!!!!
