Being wise or foolish isn’t about IQ, education or experience. It's about application.  What am I doing with what I know? Let’s engage the book of Proverbs together over the next 30 days, not just observe content.  

What are the handprints that others have left on your life? Pastor Matt took us through John 1:1-18 and testified to the Jesus handprints that those in the church has had on his life that has helped form Him into who He is today and how they have helped inspire His relationship with God. What Jesus handprints can you leave on others in your world and in your church community?

When one part of the body hurt, the rest of the body is affected. Today we looked at 2 Corinthians 12:12-31 to see how the church body functions together as a whole, in unity.

In a political season, both sides will try to unify their followers by reacting with anger to an enemy.  That is not how we live as followers of Jesus.  We live life on purpose, we are people of principle.  We will be unified around loving God and loving people toward a relationship with Jesus. That is a reason to be unified.  

Do you consider yourself a confident person?  Is that a good thing anyway?  What do you do when you find your confidence failing?  As humans, we’re too unreliable and unpredictable to trust even in ourselves; we need a foundational truth: God’s word.  As we conclude our ‘Led by Love’ series through 1 John, let’s finish up chapter 5 together and put our confidence, our ‘full trust’ in something bigger than ourselves. 

Are you part of a blended family?  Have you experienced the complications of divorce, adoption, relocation or starting over later in life?  It’s not easy.  How do we handle the complications in the family of faith, the church?  Let’s journey through 1 John 5 and see what it means to be part of God’s family, and how we should relate to His other kids… even when they are very different than us.

This week Pastor Jeff continued our series in 1 John emphasizing LOVE, love for God and love for one another. You see, Jesus said the world will know you are my disciples by how you love one another.

- Love values the other person

- Love is vulnerable to the other

- Love is costly

What do we do when our behavior doesn’t line up with our beliefs?  What does that say about me?  How long can I continue this battle?  Is there any path to victory?  Let’s walk through 1 John 4, Romans 7-8 and find hope and healing for a soul at war.  

When it’s all said and done, what will you be known for?  Don’t sleepwalk through life, make yours count.  Let’s explore 1 John 3 together and see what a life trusting in Jesus looks like as it unfolds in the community of faith.
