She is one of 8 film makers of the Pacific film Vai Telling the life story of a Pacific woman on film is a dream come true for Tongan filmmaker 'Ofa-ki-Levuka Guttenbeil Likiliki she is also  one of eight women selected to write and direct a segment of Vai – a new film funded by the NZ Film Commission. This Pacific movie Vai will give voice to the largely under-represented perspectives of Pacific women, its producers Kerry Warkia (who is of Papua New Guinean ancestry) and Kiel McNaughton The film will be shot in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, New Zealand, Samoa and Solomon Islands and Tonga.

The Festival is named after Tonga’s national flower, the Heilala, which is the highest in the hierarchy of the Tongan flowers. The Heilala plant has both male and female variety, but only the female variety of flowers. The Heilala plant is very difficult to propagate and has to be closely nurtured to survive. Just like the Heilala plant, the young ladies competing for the Miss Heilala title are closely scrutinized to ensure only the most suitable ambassador is selected for the Kingdom of Tonga.
