Sport-related concussions are a prevalent condition and a particular clinical challenge facing athletes today. In this episode, Dr. Michael Guthrie,  PGY4 gives an excellent lecture about the history and management of this difficult issue. PM&R residency training begins after a year of preliminary training, often referred to as the “intern year.” In this episode, Dr. Tahsin Choudhury, PGY2, shares his experience as a recent intern and gives tips on successfully navigating this transitional period for newly minted doctors. For the M4s who are applying this year, he also provides insight into Categorical vs. Preliminary Intern Year.

In this first episode of the PMR Scholar’s Road to Residency Series, we interview Dr. Sima Desai who provides an overview of common topics covered in a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) service as well as tips and clinical pearls for success on a TBI rotation.

Dr. Desai is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as brain injury medicine. She specializes in neurorehabilitation. She is the resiliency director for the PM&R Program at Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation.’
