Pocket Food Audio Sessions

Session 43: DJ Lil Soul by McKai Du Toit

Pocket Food Audio proudly presents “Close (Original Mix)”—a warm and intimate late-night house offering from Kindred Music SA. Blending hypnotic rhythm, airy textures, and understated groove, the track unfolds with effortless elegance, inviting listeners into a refined and immersive sonic space. Crafted at 120 BPM in C minor, Close balances subtle momentum with emotional depth, making it a sophisticated companion for after-midnight dancefloors and reflective listening alike.

Rooted in house and organic house influences, the production embraces a relaxed yet captivating aesthetic. Abstract vocal textures drift gently through the mix, complemented by airy electric guitar tones, pulsing basslines, and smooth percussion. The result is a soundscape that feels both contemporary and timeless—cool, seductive, and luxuriously restrained. Its hypnotic movement and dreamy atmosphere create a sense of intimacy that resonates deeply without overpowering the listener.

Designed as both a DJ tool and an emotive listening experience, Close thrives in peak-adjacent moments where energy softens into groove and mood takes center stage. With its seamless fusion of warmth, rhythm, and atmosphere, the track captures the essence of modern deep electronic music—understated, elegant, and profoundly evocative. Released as a standalone single on Pocket Food Audio.

Pocket Food Audio proudly presents “Kindred Music SA Tides Between Odisea Subsonica Mix”—a slow-burning transmission drifting between light and shadow, released in 2026 via Pocket Food Audio. This mix unfolds as a deep, hypnotic journey—opening in an airy, emotive space before gradually descending into textured rhythm, dubby weight, and leftfield abstraction. Gentle melodies and ambient washes give way to pulsing low-end, fractured grooves, and intricate sonic detail, blurring the line between introspection and movement. Best experienced in stillness, late at night, or as the world begins to shift at sunrise.

A genre-fluid electronic journey built around rhythm, perception, and flow rather than fixed tempo or style. This mix moves across ambient, downtempo, breakbeat, minimal, psychedelic, hip hop-adjacent and dub-techno spaces, using half-time and double-time relationships to blur the line between fast and slow.

It’s designed to be for everyone — equally rewarding as deep listening music or as something to move to. The progression is intentional and almost mathematical, but never cold: cinematic openings give way to hypnotic mid-tempo grooves, textured club energy, and a closing stretch that reframes speed as feel rather than BPM.

This isn’t a peak-time set or a genre showcase. It’s a study in rhythm, texture, and how tempo is experienced — thoughtful, immersive, and a little bit strange in the best way
