When we're struggling, is it right to question God concerning the timing of the rescue we desire? Nine psalms ask God, "How long?" None of the writers is rebuked. What can we learn from them?

Job, having heard all God has to say, repents in dust and ashes. He changes his mind and stops demanding God answer him.

We all need to work or we'll not have what we need. Sometimes we hate our work. Sometimes we love it. Do you enjoy your work? That's a gift from God!

How does Hollywood's "god" compare with the God of the Bible? Are they even close the same?

Nearly half of the book named after him are his words spoken while enduring intense suffering. What he says of God as he cries out for mercy is hope building.

Accidents. Natural disasters. Disease. When these strike, will you, like Job, worship God? The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Let the name of the Lord be praised!

I wrote a song one morning after startling myself in the mirror. Ugly in the Morning is NOTHING like Man in the Mirror by that other Michael. I promise you won't have any difficulty telling them apart. On a whim, I accompanied myself on the ukulele instead of guitar. I think it makes the song a lot more fun you to sing along with on the second go 'round. Oh! And I have a bit of truth to speak after the singing.

Josh Kerr and I ran an all-out mile in the same week. His mile was faster than mine, a world record in fact. Did I mope around after I ran my mile because it didn't measure up to Kerr's? Nope! I'm not comparing myself to him nor am I checking my life with Jesus against someone else's.

The devil is a liar. He tells us untruths so we will hate God and choose our own ways. To defeat him, we must know the truth; we must live according to God's ways.
