Greg and Giles are back after Thanksgiving break, thankful to be bringing you the week's intra-holiday weird movie news. Discussed this week: the "366 Weird Movies Guide Vol. 1" in library [sic]; Amy Adams is "Nightbitch"; surreal spoof "Dream Team" on VOD; Ed Wood's pornographic "Hard Wood" box set; various limited editions of "Hundreds of Beavers" for eager Beaverheads; and "Aguirre: the Wrath of God" arrives on 4K UHD. Plus, we catch you up on some of the stuff you missed last week.

This week, Bradley Kornish and Dan Pullen join Giles and Greg to talk about whatever interests them, which frequently includes the movies we're discussing this week (but also means, for some reason, discussions of formaldehyde chemistry sets and "Pete's Dragon"). The on-topic releases we mention are a new semi-remake of the gooey hobo comedy "Street Trash"; the Criterion Collection's "CC40" mega-box set; a Blu-ray rerelease of "The Reflecting Skin"; a special Blu-ray of "Adult Swim Yule Log"; the obscure J-horror "Tomie"; incredible collector's box sets of "The Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth"; a 4K UHD of "Bug" (2006); and a Buster Keaton Blu-ray double feature of "Seven Chances" and "Sherlock Jr." from Kino. On the slate this week: wide release kiddie anime "Ghost Cat Anzu"; very limited release (one theater) absurdist 90s erotic thriller spoof "Dream Team"; Mexican magical realist feature "Pedro Páramo" hits Netflix; "Megalopolis" arrives on VOD; special Blu-ray releases of Canonically Weird classics "Maniac" and "Häxan"; a box set of sexy Hong Kong shockers in "Sex & Zen"-led "Golden Harvest Volume 1: Supernatural Shockers"; and the highly anticipated "All the Haunts Be Ours: A Compendium of Folk Horror, Vol. 2," which includes Blu-ray versions of 2 more Canonically Weird movies in "Blood Tea and Red String" and "November," together with a bunch of other rare and intriguing folk horrors.

This week, we catch up on Don Hertzfeld news (new short "Me" plus an upcoming feature); the theatrical debut of indie black comedy "Hippo"; "A Different Man" on VOD; 2023's weirdest movie, Godfrey Reggio's surrealist "Once Within a Time," comes to VOD and physical media; and limited edition 4K sets of "Suspiria" (Luca Guadagnino's 2018 remake) and "The Wizard of Oz."

Our Halloween season guest is Paolo Zelati, author of "American Nightmares," a book of interviews with American horror directors of the 60s through the 80s. He's also a collaborator on George Romero's final screenplay, the as-yet-unproduced "Twilight of the Dead." Paolo has lots of interesting stories, but before we get to him Greg and Giles go through the week's new weird releases: "Vampire Zombies... from Space!" hits the festival circuit; a new restoration of Tarkovsky's "The Sacrifice" shows up in revival theaters; Quentin Dupieux's long-awaited "Daaaaaali!" arrives on VOD; "Cuckoo" on Blu-ray; we mention the sci-fi psychological thriller "Slingshot"; big releases of "Gummo" (Criterion Collection) and "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" (Kino) on 4K UHD/Blu-ray; a limited edition steelbook of anime epic "Ninja Scroll"; and a Blu-ray of the late 90s/early 2000s SOV CGI fantasy "Despiser."

Greg and Giles again cover the week's weird news and releases, beginning with a shout out to "The Substance." Other items discussed: Bi Gan alert for "Resurrection," Guy Maddin and the Johnson's release G7 satire "Rumours"; an experimental hip-hop feature entitled "Once Again (For the Very First Time)"; "Caligula: The Ultimatet Cut"'s arrival on VOD hopefully ends our endless coverage of the re-imagining; Criterion rediscovers the Japanese fantasy "Demon Pond"; and "Brick" arrives on 4K.

It's a workmanlike pre-Halloween episode as Greg and Giles run down the week's weird news and releases. First up, New Yorkers take note of the retrospective "So as to Dream: The Eternal Mysteries of Kaizo Hayashi" put on by Japan Society: it features many rarely seen films, some newly restored. Everyone can avail themselves of the wide theatrical rerelease of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (take the kiddies!), but you'll probably have to seek out the new indie psychological thriller "The Unraveling" on VOD. And three new films on home video to watch out for: the "Kinds of Kindness" Blu-ray, the standard edition Blu of "Late Night with the Devil," and A24s "death as a parrot" dramedy "Tuesday" now available on demand.

This week Nadia Robertson, a background extra on "Megalopolis" (and a more prominent extra in the upcoming "Saturday Night"), joins us to discuss her experiences on Francis Ford Coppola's set. Nadia has a lot of tea to spill, but first she helps Giles, Greg, and Robert quickly run through the week's releases, starting with announcements for some very cool double features playing at Beyond Fest no one will be able to get tickets for; the arrival of Quentin Dupieux's "Daaaaaali!" biopic in the big screen; a mini-debate on whether "The Substance" is worth your weird time; and Netflix sequel "The Platform 2." Then Nadia is cut off in mid-sentence, Giles mysteriously disappears, and the rest of us continue to talk "Megalopolis."
