(This is the second of hundreds of planned interviews about this particular topic.) But first, the boys discuss the week’s weird movie news and releases: a preview of the Weirdcademy Awards voting; John Waters rumors; "Poor Things" streaming options; "Divinity" on Blu-ray; Bill Plympton's "The Tune" on Blu-ray; "Kamikazee Girls" on Blu-ray; and the Zuwalski trilogy of "The Third Part of the Night," "The Devil," and "On the Silver Globe" on Region B blu-ray (so for Eurofolk only). Greg and Giles announce the candidates for the 14th Annual Weirdcademy Awards in our usual four categories: Weirdest Movie, Best Actor/Actress in a Weird Movie, and Weirdest Scene. Voting begins Sunday, Feb. 18 at 366weirdmovies.com and lasts until March 10 (the same date as Hollywood's less meaningful Most Conventional Movie Awards). Before that, we address the week's weird movie news: a "surrealistic magical odyssey" from Jennifer Lopez, a (legit?) "Repo Man" sequel from Alex Cox, Jean-Luc Godard's final short film hits Blu-ray, and a Columbia mega-UHD pack that includes a possibly marginally weird movie.

This week, Greg and Giles run through a lot of movies being released in all sorts of venues--so many movies. In theaters, there's our top pick, the gender-and-reality-bending "She Is Conann"; Shudder brings us the documentary "Dario Argento Panico"; a telepathic jellyfish alien thing called "Ozma" hits VOD; the classic Czech fantasy/comedy "The Mysterious Castle in the Carpathians" hits Blu-ray; Severin releases the 4-movie Italian Gothic set "Danza Macabra, Vol. 2"; Vinegar Syndrome has an 8+ movie collection of microbudget 90s underground comedies called "Surf Reality Movie of the Month Club"; a pair of UHD upgrades, "Trainspotting" from Criterion and "eXisteZ" from Vinegar Syndrome; Severin brings us a special edition Blu-ray of Frank Henenlotter's mutant genitalia comedy "Bad Biology"; and, finally, Yellow Veil releases Andrea Kramer's "Ladyworld" (with Kramer's debut feature, "Paris Window," as a bonus feature) on Blu-ray. So many movies, and we discuss the heck out of all of 'em.

There were so many weirdish releases this week that, in their race to cover everything, Greg and Giles forgot to mention a major one (which we'll discuss next week). Those they do remember to cover are the Criterion Collection's "Pasolini 101" box set; the Blu-ray edition of the Chinese absurdist epic "A New Old Play"; the French anime "Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman"; the sexy surrealist indie "Please Baby Please"; a 4K UHD release of the lesbian vampire classic "Daughters of Darkness"; the choose-your-own version of "Irreversible" (watch it backwards or forwards); the 1980 black comedy "Motel Hell"; Alex Proyas' debut film, the post-apocalyptic "Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds"; the odd Charles Bronson Western "The White Buffalo"; Arrow's Empire International 5-B-movie Blu-ray set (featuring "The Dungeonmaster"); the title-says-it-all "Dracula, the Dirty Old Man"; and the oddity collection "The Adam Rifkin Film Festival." After all this, they finish early and BS for the last five minutes!

Greg reunites with Giles to discuss the week's weird movie news and releases. First up, they check out the lineup of 2023's Dances with Films Festival and announce a "Robot Monster" 3D screening in New York (ahead of the summer Blu-ray release). They then run through the week's physical media releases: the haunted "Skinamarink," Kino's double Greenaway Blu of "The Falls" and "A Zed and Two Noughts," Guy Maddin's fishy "Tales from the Gimli Hospital Redux," a new 4K Tom Cruise in "Vanilla Sky," and the Criterion Collection bringing us the neglected classic "The Servant." They finish up with a preview of Boots Riley's new absurdist Amazon Prime series "I'm a Virgo," certain to be the weird TV hit of the summer.
