  • Decorating the Set (Interview with Production Designer, Michael Fitzgerald)
Welcome to the Season 6 Premiere of Decorating the Set: From Hollywood to Your Home with Beth Kushnick! We kick off the new season with a fantastic interview with Production Designer and Beth collaborator, Michael Fitzgerald. From his teenage days interning at Shakespeare Santa Cruz to his collaborations with Beth on Rare Objects and Starz’s Run The World and, to most recently, working on Disney's fantastic 2024 film, Out of My Mind, Michael has seemingly done it all in the business. We are so lucky for him to bring us his love of production design and his boundless passion and creativity. A must listen to episode to begin the new season!

    GUEST BIO: MICHAEL FITZGERALD
Production Designer Michael Fitzgerald is a California native, having begun as a teenager interning for Shakespeare Santa Cruz and regional theater companies, he continued his exploration of theater and set design at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. His subsequent move into the realm of feature films allowed him to nurture close collaborations with directors, a creative relationship that he values immensely. His recent forays in the documentary world have also enabled him to bring the directors’ very personal visions to the screen. Michael is currently working on the documentary series People of the West, recounting and visualizing the rich and complex history of California’s native peoples.
Out of My Mind, is Michael’s third feature film collaboration with director Amber Sealey, after the Ted Bundy prison drama No Man of God (2021) starring Elijah Wood. Amber and Michael met at Shakespeare Santa Cruz as teenagers! Out of My Mind (2024) is Disney’s very first film featuring a nonverbal lead actor with cerebral palsy. The challenge for Michael was two-fold: to create realistic spaces at the character’s home, school environments and other locations, and also to make every working set completely accessible, to accommodate the numerous actors in the cast with disabilities.
Michael has always had a strong intuition for how to best bring a story to life, creating worlds that are visually authentic and in synch with the tone of each project.

  • The Yellowstone Podcast (Episode 514)
Welcome to The Yellowstone Podcast!  Join Stef, Sheila, and Paul each week as they discuss Paramount Network’s hit series, Yellowstone and this latest episode, "Life Is a Promise"!
Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 14 "Life Is a Promise" - Beth looking on as Rip and Carter see to their own herd on their own ranch. Copyright 2024 Image by Paramount.
🌄 The End of an Era 🌄
The Yellowstone series finale, "Life Is a Promise," marks the close of a story that has captivated audiences for five seasons. Written and directed by Taylor Sheridan, the finale brings closure, vengeance, and a sense of transformation to the Dutton family and those around them - and The Yellowstone Podcast is there to help you finish off this excellent show.
Join Stef, Sheila, and Paul on The Yellowstone Podcast as they break down the emotional, thematic, and shocking moments of the series finale.
Key Discussion Points from This Episode:
    Was This the Right Finale?
Did Yellowstone deliver a satisfying ending? With themes of closure, forgiveness, and vengeance, do you feel the story tied up all its loose ends, or is there more left unresolved?
    Kayce’s Big Decision:
Kayce’s choice to sell the Yellowstone Ranch to the Broken Rock Tribe for $1.25/acre was monumental. Did this feel like the right way to honor the Dutton legacy, or did it signal the end of something greater? How did his vision and the wolf’s reappearance solidify his journey?
    Jamie’s Reckoning:
Jamie’s fate at Beth’s hands was both brutal and inevitable. Was his death justified, or do you feel sympathy for him in his final moments? Did Beth’s use of a knife carry deeper symbolic weight given Jamie’s past betrayals?
    John’s Funeral:
Was the funeral a fitting send-off for John Dutton? How did the callbacks to 1883 and the series’ earliest moments—like Lee’s grave and Beth’s observation of nature—ground the finale in the show’s rich history?
    Beth and Rip’s Fresh Start:
Beth buying a smaller ranch near Dillon represents a new chapter for her and Rip. Does this quieter life feel like a victory for Beth, or is it a bittersweet compromise after the Yellowstone’s fall?
The End of the Yellowstone Ranch:
As the ranch infrastructure is dismantled, how do you feel about the Broken Rock Tribe taking over? Does this shift signify a hopeful future for the land, or does it leave a bittersweet mark on the Duttons’ legacy?

Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton in Paramount Network's Yellowstone
Welcome back to our deep dive into Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 9 "Desire is All You Need"! This episode, Paul (filling in for Sheila) and Stef explore some of the most intense and emotional moments yet, dissecting character motivations, power dynamics, and the show’s powerful nods to cowboy culture. ⚡️
🚨 Remember: This is NOT a recap – spoilers are in full effect! 🚨
    ❓ Discussion Topics
“All things end” – Could this hint at Yellowstone’s own limited future? And in honoring history, as with Billy Klapper’s cameo, what does that mean for John Dutton’s legacy? Are the Duttons’ roots still tied to Texas through their herd, now back where it all started with James Dutton?
The six-month flashback: Did it add depth or drag?
Kayce’s encounter with the wolf at East Camp: What does it signify? And do these symbols pull us into Kayce’s sense of duty and fate?
John’s shocking death and the questions surrounding it: How is Beth handling this revelation, and what is Kayce’s struggle to believe her about Jamie’s involvement?
    🔍 Behind-the-Scenes Trivia
Ever wonder how they hide big reveals in scripts? “Arrivals” are the codeword for significant events – for John’s passing, the team even changed his name to "Crosby" in the script! And did you know John Schuyler Crosby was Montana’s last governor before it became a state?
