And just like that, we’re at the season (series?) finale of The Outsider! Last week’s episode left us with rifle shots being fired and no idea of the fallout. Who Lived? Who Died? Who’s Going to Tell Their Story? (Yes, we like Hamilton at Pod Clubhouse.)
For this week’s finale episode of The Outsider Podcast, Caroline, Paul, and Mike are joined by special guest, Adam Ramirez, the founder and moderator of “The Outsider Fan Group (HBO Miniseries)” Facebook group! While we wait to hear if The Outsider will get a Season 2, the foursome dig into Episode 10, “Must/Can’t,” and try to work out some big questions, like:
Who had the most heroic death? Why did Seale run out into the open like that and did Andy’s actions make sense?
Did Jack do anything to redeem himself in the end? He could have easily killed Holly and Ralph but he didn’t. Was that his choice or El Cuco’s?
After a season of chasing the monster, were you happy with our heroes’ final confrontation with El Cuco?
And last, what was up with Holly? From her behavior in the cave and her goodbye with Ralph to her strange behavior in the after credit scene, is Holly Gibney still OUR Holly Gibney?!?

With only one more episode to go after this one, THIS episode had set up our characters like bowling pins. We got a few more minutes to see how much Andy seems to love Holly. We got to see how reluctant Alec felt about deciding to come and help. The audience finally got to see Ralph buy into this whole thing so much that he needed to try and keep the full truth away from Jeannie. She still almost hit a lady with her car over the details he DID share, so that was a good choice on his part.
Mike, Paul, and Caroline dig into the episode and ask each other the big questions, like:
Was the addition of Andy to the story necessary? Holly felt pretty complete, so why give her a love interest when no one else in the story had one?
The Flashbacks with the Weavers. Seale’s story provided a great background and a pretty good reason to go check out the local cave system. But was it effective to weave their story throughout the episode?
The gang somehow lost track of sharpshooting madman Jack Hoskins. How in the world did that happen?
The title felt like a Wizard of Oz reference. But why? What’s the connection?

Pod Clubhouse presents “The Outsider Podcast.” This week, Caroline, Paul, and Mike discuss Episode 6, “The One About the Yiddish Vampire.” With Holly’s return to Cherokee City, this week’s episode began piecing together information held by each of the characters.
What are the limits of The Outsider’s power? Is Claude infected? What is Jack going to do with Holly? Is Glory still immune to The Outsider’s influence? How long can Ralph continue to not believe at all?

Pod Clubhouse presents “The Outsider Podcast.” This week, Caroline, Paul and Mike discuss Episode 5, “Tear-Drinker.” The Clubhouse Three had very different opinions on this episode which prompted a lot of good discussion.
What is the nature of The Outsider (Mr. GooMan)? What determines who is affected by El Coco? The difference between grief and anger? Is there hope for redemption for Jack? Where does the story go from here?

This week on “The Outsider” Podcast, Caroline, Paul and Mike talk about The Outsider Episode 4, “Que Viene el Coco.” the show dropped sooooo much information in our laps this episode, but fear not. The Clubhouse Three break it all down for you in this podcast!
‘With every new piece of information uncovered by Holly’s investigation, new questions seem to arise. In larger life questions, have you ever been given life-changing advice from a bartender? Do you believe in the Devil? Did your parents raise you to fear the Boogeyman?
Join us in the Clubhouse as we figure out the mysteries of The Outsider, together!

I think we’ve entered the stage where the audience is putting the mystery together faster than the characters, but are we right? In The Outsider episode 3, we got to meet Holly Gibney, a character central to an entire other series of King books (The Bill Hodges trilogy). What will her eccentric and possibly genius perspective bring to the investigation? She’s already looking into supernatural and unexplainable explanations. Will Ralph believe her, even if she’s right?
We also spent some quality time with Detective Jack Hoskins. Why would he go to that barn in the dark like that? What do you think bit him? How does a police officer afford so much time spent at the Peach’s Crease?
We examine these questions and more in the podcast!

Pod Clubhouse presents “The Outsider Podcast.” In our first episode, Caroline, Paul, and Mike cover the first two episodes of the series (“Fish in a Barrel” and “Roanoke”), which has been adapted from Stephen King’s horror novel of the same name. The Clubhouse friends talk about the hit or miss nature of Stephen King’s adapted works and wonder if Caroline will watch the entire show with her face hidden.
Also, they ask the important questions about this new HBO series. Was Ralph correct the way he handled Terry’s arrest? Who (what) is Goo Terry? Do you need to read the book in order to appreciate the show? Why is Caroline screaming?!? Join us in the Clubhouse. #HBO #TheOutsider #TheOutsiderHBO #FishInABarrel #Roanoke
