I created this episode using Google’s NotebookLM, an AI Research Assistant.
Intro: For this discussion I wanted to do two things: First, the topic explores ethically complex decisions by AI and humans. Secondly I wanted to test how well NotebookLM can integrate information from a Youtube video and information I compiled into a PDF document, that contains data tables, notes and summaries made in Grok3.
Important Note: AI answers are assumed to have been correctly captured at the time that the data for the Youtube video was prepared. AI models may have evolved to give different answers (better or worse) when run again, like is evident for the answers by XAI (Grok3 original response) vs Grok3 June 2025).
Summary:
19 ethically complex questions, answered by various AIs, as well as groups of humans, and by me, CyberGeo. These are all trolley questions found on neal.fun/absurd-trolley-problems.
Sources:
Youtube Video, “AI Decides on Absurd Trolley Problems“ posted by Clarified Mind.
Grok 3 Analysis (June 2025)
Disclaimer: NotebookLM can be inaccurate. Please double check for accuracy. Be mindful of the GIGO Principle – The output is only as good as its sources (or worse).
