Remember As children of God and soldiers in His army, when David was just a shepard boy, he gained a blessed assurance and a security in God. David wrote of the Lord in Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? In Psalm 46:1 he wrote “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” Then he wrote in Psalm 91:2  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. As soldiers in God’s army, God says to us  in Jeremiah 31:3 …“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you,” so that we too may have a blessed assurance and security in the Lord our God.
