On this short bonus episode, Jarret previews the upcoming Turkey Day battle for top dog in the league's worst division. First, he recaps the Bengals game starting with the unfortunate injury to Joe Burrow. Chase Young had a great bounce back performance, and Antonio Gibson is looking like a star. Does the WFT have a matchup problem with the Cowboys? Jarret thinks so, and it might be exploited by Dallas on Thanksgiving. We're hoping for the best though, and we wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving with your family. #HTTFT
This week on PAAFT Jarret returns from his two week hiatus from covering WFT games and immediately wants to go back into said hiatus. The Football Team goes down 30-27 to the Lions after an incredible comeback stopped short by a last second field goal. Was the Chase Young penalty actually a penalty? What is up with Washington and not being able to play football in the first half? AND CAN DUSTIN HOPKINS MAKE A FIELD GOAL?!?!?! Also, Jarret previews the marquee matchup of the top two picks of the 2020 draft, Joe Burrow vs Chase Young. Can WFT win as favorites against Cincy? Finally, we talk about the NFL Draft, and Jarret's guy may surprise you (HINT: He's not a quarterback). Send in your questions for next week's pod to [email protected] or on Twitter @FootballTeamPod.
For the Washington Football Team's BYE week, I decided to bring on four of my good friends and discuss the worst owner in professional sports, Dan Snyder. None of these people are WFT fans, so they gained a lot of insight as to what exactly is going on with the current ownership of the team. The talk was tons of fun, and I want to know if you enjoyed this episode and want more like it in the future. See you next week where we will discuss the Giants game and preview WFT's week 10 matchup.
It's the first ever victory pod here at PAAFT and Jarret couldn't be more excited after stomping the rival Cowboys at FedExField. He takes you through the dominating performance from the defense and the efficient offense doing more than enough to secure the victory. Hopkins missed another field goal and it might be time to bring in some new kickers for a tryout. Terry McLaurin gave a great post game speech and Ron Rivera got to ring the bell after his last cancer treatment on Monday. Jarret assigns mandatory homework for PAAFT listeners as to what next week's BYE week show will be about (sounds kind of lazy to me). Finally, Jarret takes you through the weird scenario of Washington competing for a division title and a home playoff game. Playoffs?! Don't forget to send in ideas for next week's show to [email protected] or else you will receive a zero.
On today's podcast, Jarret recaps the heartbreaking loss to the New York Giants, Was it a good idea to go for two at the end? We think so. Also, can Kyle Allen be trusted to lead the WFT past the Cowboys on Sunday? Unlike the Football Team, Jarret has a winning record this year when it comes to his gambling picks on the show. If you had any brains, you would follow his lead again this week. This week's questions are very good ones- the outlook of football's future post-covid and is it reasonable for the Washington Football Team to relocate? This week's big takeaway is about the "name change"... and it gets heated pretty quickly. Do you want your WFT questions answered on the podcast? Just email [email protected] or DM us on Twitter @FootballTeamPod. See you next week!
In this week's episode, Jarret recaps what was a BAD performance from the WFT against the Rams, and why Alex's Smith's incredible comeback is the only positive takeaway from last weekend. We preview this weekend's matchup against the winless Giants, and how the rest of the season may be determined by the outcome of this game. Dwayne Haskins is not reporting to Washington Football Facilities due to a stomach illness that is non-COVID related. Questions from listeners this week include Haskins trade talk, lots of discussion about Washington coaches past, present and future, and who would Jarret root for if there was no WFT? This week's big takeaway is a conversation on tanking, and how it is a strategy that does not work in the NFL and how Washington is most likely not going to pursue a tank. At the end, Jarret receives a shoutout from Washington Football Talk. If you don't listen to that podcast, remove yourself from the rock your living under and check them out. On today's episode of PAAFT, Jarret dives into the Dwayne Haskins decision. What happened that made Ron Rivera not only bench Haskins, but make him third string? We cover all things Kyle Allen- his history, familiarity with Scott Turner, and more. Alex Smith has been promoted to backup, what does this mean for him? Once that is out of the way, Jarret previews the WTF's week 5 date with the LA Rams. Will Kyle Allen lead the offense to score against a star-studded Rams defense? Will the Washington D be able to capitalize on a sluggish Rams offense? Find out Jarret's game predictions (1-0) and his gambling picks (1-1). It was Ladies Day on PAAFT, as all questions answered today were sent by women. This week's big takeaway is about Alex Smith and his incredible journey to come back and suit up for Washington. In today's episode, Jarret reviews the first three weeks of the season and details how the heck the Washington Football Team is first place in the NFC East. Then, we talk about what Dwayne Haskins needs to do going forward to retain the starting job for the rest of season. After the Dwayne talk is over, Jarret goes over the keys to be competitive against the Ravens on Sunday. We cover gambling picks for the game, and we answer some listener questions covering Trevor Lawrence, a new team name, and what the deal is with Washington's third down defense. This week's big takeaway is about Troy Apke, and how his benching is way overdue. Don't forget to download, subscribe, and rate 5 stars on Apple Podcasts.
