The Basics of Transformation
It’s not all about me.
Let’s be honest, we all tend to think we’re all that.
The point of my existence is to be part of something bigger than me.
When we find our function, we are to serve whole heartedly.

True Worshippers
Are responding to God’s Mercy.
By putting ourselves on the altar.
Loving the good, hating the false.
Humbly seeking to do our part.
Willing to love selflessly. (really hard)

The Fear of God is…
The beginning of wisdom.
Keeps you from “stupid.”
Causes us to think first.
Our reverence for God is expressed in how we treat people.

Who The Bible Says to Honor
Your Parents
Government authorities
God is the source of all authority.
He established it.
They maintain order.
We contribute to the public good.
We are diligent to pay, respect and honor
Your spiritual leadership

Honor in Church
We live a life of honoring others.
We have some excellent examples among us. Respect that.
Honor those who live a life of service.
Honoring others says a lot about you.

“Honorable people honor people.”

Developing Spiritual Strength
I will never be spiritually strong using my own resources.
We need to look past people into the Spiritual.
We don’t fear evil. (The enemy uses intimidation)
We don’t compromise truth, righteousness or The Gospel.
We follow the Holy Spirit in prayer.

Our Minds Operate from Three Parts
Our Soul: is made up of our will, thoughts and emotions.
Our Flesh: Our urges, desires and appetites, pride, rebellion etc. (Selfish)
Spirit: The part of us that relates to and desires a close relationship with God.

The Flesh Governed Mindset
This mindset results in death.
Is set on self interest.
All about seeking pleasure.
Avoids discomfort or sacrifice.
Is very interested in control.
Retaliates with anger or revenge.
Is hostile to God (Battle for control)

Spirit Filled Mindset
Gives you power to overcome fleshly desires.
Brings life to our mortal bodies.
Testifies that we are God’s children.
Seals us in the Love of God.
More than overcomers.

How To Activate God’s Power
It’s found in complete surrender.
It’s our intention every day.
The purpose of our lives is for people to know jesus.
