Can we trust that Jesus Christ rose from the dead? Can we trust that His rising will impact our eternal destiny? Pastor Mat looks at the Apostle Paul's teaching to the Corinthians (and us), which gives arguments from the perspectives of Authority, History, and Reason or Logic for the solid foundation of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Our 11am service on Easter Sunday included readings by the students of GRCA showing how all the books of the Bible reveal Jesus Christ. Then Pastor Mat shared a brief, but inspiring, teaching on the resurrection of Christ and of believers. We finished with a glorious time of baptism, where many had an opportunity to follow the Lord's example of being baptized, and to publicly identify with the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord.
Do you want to know God? Do you want to know His love for you? Pastor Mat says, look at the cross of Jesus Christ. He explains how the cross reveals all of the character of God; how the cross shows you the extent of His love for you, now and in eternity. Watch or listen to this moving, encouraging Good Friday message and then share it with a friend. (Includes clips from "The Passion of the Christ.")
God chose the Resurrection to change the world. And Pastor Mat declares: if Jesus really rose from the dead, we should be able to experience the power of that Resurrection not only in eternity, but right now. The character of believers' lives should prove Jesus rose. What is "Resurrection Power"? How do we access it? What did Paul write to the Ephesians (and us) about that power?
On Palm Sunday we often focus on Jesus riding into Jerusalem and being hailed as King. The people, however, were looking for an earthly king, and Jesus had something much greater planned. Pastor Mat points out that when Jesus makes a triumphal entry into our hearts, we begin to see everything differently...and eternally.
When Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem on the first Palm Sunday, so many of the religious leaders missed the significance because they were more concerned with temporal, earthly power and ritual. This study encourages us to always focus on the eternal, so that we don't miss God's plan for our lives.
Daniel 10-12 records a vision the prophet Daniel had concerning the conflicts to come in the last days: the rising of Antichrist, who he will make war against, what the world will be like, etc. Some think this prophecy was fulfilled in the first century, but Pastor Mat lays out his reasons for believing they have yet to be fulfilled. We are close, however; and with that in mind, how should we be living?
In this Communion message, Pastor Mat looks at the first Passover through the eyes of a child in the land of Goshen. Then we consider together what Jesus suffered to become our Passover Lamb.
The Book of Leviticus can be challenging to understand as Christians. So many types of offerings -- what do they all mean? In this message, Pastor Mat reminds us that we cannot approach our holy God without an offering, without a sacrifice. In the Old Testament, these sacrifices needed to be offered over and over, and only covered sin. Listen and learn about God's perfect Sacrifice -- offered once for all to cleanse us from sin.
