Spiritual Contributor > Spiritual Consumer

Being a consumer leaves you sad, being a contributor makes you satisfied. Consumer leads to failure, contributor leads to being fulfilled.

1. You can’t be cared for in the crowd.

2. Created for community.

Life is better together.

“Just as a nursing mother cares for her children, so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” 1 Thessalonians 2:7b-8

“See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” Hebrews 3:12-13

I. Love is Sent.

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.”
Ephesians 1:13-14

II. Love Saves.

“But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him! “Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”
Luke 12:5-7

III. Love’s Source.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
2 Corinthians 5:17

"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” Matthew 10:16

spirit = utterance or a person inspired by a spirit.

1. Truth always wins in the end.

No truth → Not from God.
No love → Does not know God.

2. God is the source of love.

3. The world experiences the love of God through His children.

“Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.” John 13:1b

“If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?” Matthew 5:46-47

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35

1. Loving your brother reveals salvation.

2. Loving your brother requires sacrifice.

“ Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice.” Psalm 112:5

3. Loving your brother results in service.

4. Loving your brother renders satisfaction.

“Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands.” Psalm 112:1
