For those of you who don’t know, Florida is dealing with a massive problem. To simply put it, our state and natural ecosystem is dying. Our water quality is suffering and the Everglades in itself is becoming completely altered. For this round of discussion, I am joined by Thomas Oates, Diamond Bergeron and Mike Elfenbein. Three stakeholders extremely passionate about the Everglades and fighting daily to preserve our land and water. This episode outlines some of the problems, plans and results surrounding our ecosystem. Unfortunately, we have no easy answers but will continue to push awareness, education and involvement. Connected By Water continues our work of giving a voice to those who the fight for clean water, conservation and preservation of our beautiful Florida.

We had the pleasure of interviewing both Travis Suit and Barney Heath. It’s hard to do this story justice. I urge you to lean in. Travis is the founder of Pipers Angels, a bluegrass non-profit raising money for cystic fibrosis. Take a ride with us as we discuss the reason behind Travis’s passion to help find a cure. We dive in to the foundations biggest fundraiser which is a paddle from Bimini to Palm Beach. An endeavor that Barney along with 181 other supporters just completed in June.

Adam Fisk was introduced to me recently and I needed to have him on the show. His energy is contagious and what he does from a kayak is quite remarkable.
