  • @SeekingPlumb | Putin's "Masterpiece Theatre", decades in the making.

"I think it was around 2016, a quote unquote bestseller that is apparently not known in the west, but came out in Russia was a sci fi novel called the Third Empire. The author of that bit of that book, they believe was also one of the authors that was a part of Project Russia. Now, the sci fi novel takes this to the nth degree. And so this might be the end point that I refer to as being completely and totally outlandish."

"But we're using our human lens and overlaying it onto entities or beings that do not, will not in any way shape or form really mirror humans. So, for example, we have finite lives, and so the brevity of our lives impacts the things that we're concerned about. Or if you think about at this moment in time, we cannot regrow limbs. But an AI robot will be able to transfer their data consciousness from one location to another."

  • @SeekingPlumb | Moral relativity is an observation, & thus morally neutral.

"Right? And, and then future generation, there's just so much there. So how do you moralize anything to do with food or weight? You can no longer assume that what a person is or isn't doing is evident by looking at the body. Another great example of the flashlight versus the spotlight is when it comes to conversations around, there are only two sexes, XX and xy. Actually, if you pull out that spotlight, you'll find there are more chromosomal pairings than just those two."

  • @SeekingPlumb | A retraction, of sorts. πŸ€” β€’ Fact, fiction, gaslighting on scale.

"Some of it can be innocuous. You just don't want to talk about something and so you're slapping a smile on to sort of just create some distance. It's not anything nefarious. And then you have all the way to the other extreme of where it is nefarious. So, like, I know how it feels personally. And then to experience this on this larger scale, and I can only imagine that this, this is kind of like gaslighting, right? Not kind of. It is."

  • @SeekingPlumb | Starving the algorithms may slay the irresponsible "dragons".

"This was done by three different universities, two in Australia, one in Ireland. They created brand new accounts on these platforms, brand new phones, brand new phone numbers, brand new email address, brand new names, and made them all mail to see what the algorithms would do and what they would feed them. In one example, they gave them videos on the Office and Star Wars. By day three, they were starting to see radical, radicalized videos and highly misogynistic videos."

"I will attempt to put her screenshots below. Okay, so what does all of this mean in my mind? Let me back up. I remember coming across someone saying once, maybe a couple of years ago, how, you know, there's always put a lot of blame on women, and because we're, quote, unquote, too emotional, then we shouldn't be leaders. However, every war we've ever been in has happened because men have been in charge."

  • @SeekingPlumb | Transmuting empathy πŸ‘‰πŸ» compassion; healthy? Maybe AND maybe not. #NotMyMonkey
Click here to reply to @SeekingPlumb

"And I don't think that that's entirely accurate, but I can appreciate the nuance of some facet of empathy requiring not only what we are observing. So putting cognitive empathy aside, the kind of using your imagination, but when you are with someone and you see them either experiencing incredible joy or experiencing them in anguish and pain, you can't help but."

  • @SeekingPlumb | Unpacking "the bill of goods" we were sold.

"I wanted to unpack a bit further the bill of goods that we were sold in reference to the previous episode, rather than recap it if you missed it, the link is below. I'm still boggled by some of these things, right? If economists know that capitalism is designed to destroy itself, sociologists know that democracy and capitalism sort of work hand in hand and the inevitability if these things are not structured well is to lead into authoritarianism."
