  "When we tell people to get out there and exercise, you know, calories in versus calories out, you'll lose weight. There's a lot more to that. Physically, it takes a lot more for some people to lose weight. Not making excuses, but it's true. But also the mental aspects. Some people use weight as a shield, as a cover without even realizing it. And then once that shield and cover is gone, they are now exposed."

  "The. The scale is simply a number, right? I've had the scale not read what I think it should read, and yet I've worn a smaller size in clothing. So I'm down right now just almost 30 pounds. And I thought I would have lost a lot more. And I've also thought that I would need to lose more in order to see some of the benefits or some of the results I'm having, such as being down to pant sizes."

  "But what I'm saying is that the teacher, and not to say that it's her job necessarily, but hear my point, she couldn't discern or recognize that he was simply excited. It's what happens in society when it comes to young black boys and maybe even girls as well. But let's stick to boys for now. Any type of excitement from young black boys is immediately viewed as aggression."
