"If there's one book that truly captures the essence of voice, I think it's this one. Each character has such a distinct way of speaking. There's a Skeeter with her progressive views wrapped in Southern manners. Then there's Aibileen's wisdom that's as rich as her tone and of course, Minnie's sass and strength. So I think the author has really nailed the nuances of each personality. And the humor and the pain and the resilience of these characters come alive through their conversations."

"So what are the books you'd love to read again, you know, for. For the first time? Do let me know. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Until next time. Happy reading. Bye."

"One poem that always gets me is Ozymandias by PB Shelley. The way Shelley talks about this grand old statue of an emperor in ruins with his line look on my works, ye mighty, and despair, followed by a vivid description of an empty, desolate desert, really hits home about how nothing lasts forever. I think it's such a profound and haunting reminder of the fleeting nature of power and legacy and our own impermanence, and it definitely moves me to tears every time I read it."

"Nevertheless, this book on my shelf is a constant reminder of my intention to tackle this masterpiece someday. And perhaps this post today will inspire me to finally pick it up and explore its profound themes and complex narrative. So this book, I think, was a gift from a friend, so it will perhaps remain special for that reason. And this friend is an aspiring writer himself, and it's a reminder of the good old days when we made big plans to be published authors someday."
