David dances before the Arc of the Covenant as he journeys with 30,000 Israelites to Jerusalem. The Arc is an image of the presence of God among men. That presence happens by habitation in the justified soul.

In spite of having been persecuted by Saul, David spares his life and acts becomes a type of Christ as he forgives his enemy.
