Hey everyone we're back with a very rough, very echo-ey live show audio rip here. You can catch the live show here at www.twitch.tv/pftp_plays

We may still do episodes how we've been doing them. We just wanted to do a test run and see how this goes. Def have notes for next time for sure.

This is one of those films where the story of how it got made is practically more interesting than the film itself. This is New York Ninja!

Shot in 1984, but finished and released in 2021, we explore the film itself and how it came to be, and as with most episodes, go off on some non sequitur bullshit along the way.

RIP RAY LIOTTA YOU WERE THE BEST

We just had to rewatch this film to remember and appreciate this truly magnificent film and performances not only by Ray but literally everyone else in this fucking film. Recording may sound a tad rough, we had to record under different conditions that couldn't really be avoided.

Really now think for a second: Just how many amazing scenes are in this film? Many people would instantly say the "Funny How?" scene. Or marvel at the technicality of the long running shot from the street through the restaurant. They are correct to do this, these are terrific scenes, but you still have to realize that this entire movie just would not work without Ray Liotta holding the whole thing together. This whole movie rested on his shoulders, alongside amazing performances from so many other, more well established actors. Yet it seems almost effortless on his part. He carries the film while also being our guide through this life of organized crime. Truly, truly amazing performance. Ray Liotta will be missed and he had so much more to give.

Back with another film made in the last year, it's The Card Counter. You could say we got a little tilted in this one. We can all tilt. Check it out and please enjoy.

We just might be getting a tad scandalous here on the show this time. We check out Showgirls, an underrated banger of a film from director Paul Verhoeven. Starring Elizabeth Berkley and Gina Gershon. This movie has sexual tension between just about every character, over-the-top... just about everything, doggy-chow enthusiasts, and...... SHOWBIZ. Check out this very much underappreciated film from the nineties.

Gonna be real with you guys, this episode is all over the place. There is talk about the film mentioned in the episode title. There is! There is also a bunch of bullshitting in this one. It's basically like a send off to the year of our lort Two Thousand and Twenty One.

Marriage on the rocks? Job got you down? Wife leave you for an Enlightened German Playboy? Then you have more in common with Sam Neill's character Mark in POSSESSION than you realize. You also better hope the similarities end there.

Won't lie, you are best going in to this knowing as little as possible so consider this a spoiler warning. Also a spoiler warning in the ep itself so that's TWO warnings.

This one goes out to all the people with jobs that are depressing as shit.

This time we watched Bringing out the Dead, an underrated Martin Scorcese film. Featuring a great performance by the benevolent god of this podcast house, Nicolas Cage, plus many other great performances by a kind of 'who's who' of the era.
