  • Podcast Maximus Episode 50 - Interview with Tom B Long

The Letterer at the Beginning and at the End

In our special 50th episode we interview Tom B Long, former IDW staffer, freelancer, letterer of thousands of comics and appreciator of art and eggs. Join us as we move through the craft and work involved in getting Lost Light #25 fit to read and mull over Tom's personal philosophies on lettering layout and craft, as well as how badge placement is done and the sad state of the comics industry. Guest-starring one hungry cat.

Tom's autobiographical comic, 'Comic Book Nobody Volume 1' is available on Comixology.

  • Podcast Maximus Episode 49 - Introduction to Revisitation

It was the winter of 2005.

We say a sad goodbye to stalwart host and inspiration Marian and limp on with a discussion of Stuart’s new mega-project: Revisitation. He is going to review every issue of the original IDW Transformers comics, starting with Infiltration in the bewilderingly distant past of 2005. Has the pitch of ‘The Ultimates, but Transformers’ aged well? How does this old relaunch compare to any of the several other relaunches we have lived through since?

  • Podcast Maximus Episode 48 - Holiday Special 2020 featuring the Transformer Family survey results

    Thanks for traveling with me.

As 2020 finally falls we spend a little time discussing which Transformers make the best friends, spouses, mentors or enemies. Thanks to a reader survey we have plenty to work with, ranging from naked thirst, heartfelt vulnerability and irreverent daydreams.

Big thank you to everyone who filled out our survey and to everyone for watching and supporting over the years.

Just some Transformers fans who can't get enough of talking giant robots. Tagged as advisory because although content is generally family-friendly the source material (science fiction war) does contain more adult concepts. Comics clack is the usual focus but expect a bit of other stuff too.
