  • Can Pain Lead Us To Praise?
This Sunday we are excited to have our own worship leader, Carlton Yelle, sharing his heart & God’s word with us. Carlton has also asked a couple members from Mosaic to join him in sharing their story on how God took the most difficult and painful circumstances in their lives and not only turned it into good, as Romans 8:28 states, but how their pain gave them a deeper understanding of worship.
You may say to yourself, “How can I worship at a time like this?” Please join us on Sunday and discover not only “How,” but Why its imperative to lift your heart in praise when it’s the last thing you feel like doing.

  • Seeing Our Pain Through God's Sovereignty
This Sunday we are excited to have Robert Day share God’s word with us on the sovereignty of God. Robert is the Chief Executive Officer of Patrick Henry Family Services, and a man who loves Jesus. His personal life is one of overcoming tremendous pain and hardship when he was just a boy. If anyone knows about the sovereignty of God, it’s Robert.
I love a quote he recently shared with me from John Piper, “None of our mess or pain makes any sense, none of it is helpful, if God Himself and the glory of His work is not our greatest treasure.”

  • Biblical Peacemaking
Have you ever gone to confess a wrong to someone and found your efforts to reconcile falling flat? Biblical peacemaking sounds relatively easy when you read about it, until you have to put it into practice with the person sitting across from you.
This Sunday we'll be taking the truths that John Stroud shared last Sunday about being free, forgiven and righteous under the new covenant, and applying them to those messy relationships we have.....particularly when we are the cause of a big portion of the mess.
Come prepared to learn the 7 A's of a great confession that you can put into practice this week.

  • Where Do I Find My Confidence, Strength, and Hope?
Where do I find my true confidence, strength and hope? An exposition of Philippians 3
Times of instability in our lives often have us searching for forms of security and point us to what we most deeply value. Either that "thing" can hold up under the stress and weight we put on it, or it cannot.
Today, many of us are learning more about what we put our confidence and security in during this period of pandemic and social unrest. This Sunday we take a look at the Apostle Paul's struggle with that very thing, and ultimately his answer, as we take an in depth look at the third chapter of Philippians using a more expository style.

  • Practical Steps Towards Unity
One of the more gratifying things that has come out of the racial strife in which we find our nation today, at least for me, is the number of brothers and sisters in Christ who have come to me with grief in their hearts, wanting to know what they can do to be of help. They want to act, but they don't know where to begin.
The issues that are tearing at the fabric of our nation are rooted in centuries of tortured history between black and white, and won't be solved overnight, but it is a sign of holy conviction that so many of us want to get involved.
I want to provide you with some practical steps, built on Scripture, that I hope will answer your questions and help you bring that which man has torn apart back together again, in the name of Jesus Christ, who sought complete unity for all his disciples.

  • "The Perfect Dad"
Hey, kids, there’s still time to plan something special for Dad this weekend! When I was a little boy Father’s Day meant finding odd jobs to earn enough money to buy my dad a little present. Most often it was handkerchiefs, socks or Old Spice aftershave. These little Father’s Day traditions are great way to make lasting memories.
When you give your dad a gift or a card, is it because he’s “The Perfect Dad”? Probably not. It’s probably because, he’s YOUR dad!
When I was a young man starting my family, I had visions of being the perfect dad. I wanted to know everything the Bible said about parenting, and I had visions of my kids growing up and bragging about how their dad was so amazing.
On Sunday, we’re going to talk about the perfect dad, and explore some of the challenges dads face when pursuing that ambition.

  • Gifts or Fruit or Both
This week I would like to talk with you about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Fruit of the Spirit. I’ve been in churches where the Gifts of the Spirit were present but there wasn’t a lot of fruit being displayed in the folks practicing those gifts. I’ve also been in churches where the fruit of the Spirit was so evident, but the gifts were shunned.
I really believe that God intended Believers to use the spiritual gift/s He gave us, and at the same time, wrap them in the Fruit of the Spirit so everything is done in “decency and in order” as scripture states.
Hope you will join us this Sunday as we talk about how to do that.

  • Terms are Important
Filled with the Spirit, baptized in the spirit, indwelt by the spirit, praying in the spirit, speaking in the spirit, Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost, gifts of the spirit, fruit or fruits of the spirit, slain in the spirit, Is the Holy Spirit a person, is there a second filling of the Holy Spirit after salvation, should we pray to the Spirit? Confused yet?
If you’ve been attending church for any length of time you’ve no doubt heard these terms. The question is, what do they all mean?
Join us this Sunday at Mosaic and we’ll unpack each of them for you.

  • Pentecost Sunday
This Sunday is the day that many churches around the world remember the Day of Pentecost; a day to commemorate the receiving of the Holy Spirit by the early church. Not only did the early disciples receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, it was also the birth of the New Testament church in the Book of Acts.
I find it mind-blowing at times when you realize that the same Holy Spirit that in-dwelt the early believers also resides in us - God’s very life, breath and energy.
This Sunday I would like to remind all of us, especially in our current situation, that the Holy Spirit is not only our “Helper,” he is also the unifying Spirit that joins us all together as one, and we are far better together, especially during times of heartache and confusion.

  • Scarcity Leads to Clarity
Whenever I read, which is my favorite pastime, I write down quotes or phrases I want to remember in a separate notebook. One of those quotes I wrote down years ago was, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone” by Neale Donald Walsch. I thought of that quote as I was preparing for this week’s message.
I also remembered another quote, “We grow more in times of pain than in times of plenty.” This Sunday I would like to share with you how we can come out of this current pandemic sharper, more focused, and with a renewed vision and purpose for our lives and our church. Scarcity can lead to more clarity if we let God have his way in the midst of discomfort.
