Season 2: Heresy, The Inquisition, and The Problem of Evil.

Three main Secret Societies emerged during The Crusades from different groups and for different reasons. The Knights Templar is the most well-known. These monk-soldiers started a financial network that lifted their group into a position of power. The Knights Hospitaller and the Teutonic Knights are two other types of societies that emerged at the same time. The Hospitallers offered medical help to pilgrims and crusaders seeking passage to The Holy Land. Teutonic Knights were warriors from a Germanic influence. These societies and their role in The Crusades is discussed.

We discuss the Crusades, exposing them as exercises in defeat and futility. The perception of the Crusader, even seen in some school mascots, is one of strength and power. The Crusades themselves were anything but. With multiple leaders, covering 200 years, only one of the nine Crusades could be considered successful. We talk about the reasons why and the beginnings of secret organizations like The Knights Templar.

Meant as a bonus summary episode, this expanded into something more. We discuss Israeli strength, including Operation Entebbe, a counter-terrorist hostage-rescue mission carried out by commandos of the Israel Defense Forces at Entebbe Airport in Uganda on 4 July 1976. Also, Jewish history and Christian symbolism are expounded upon. Christian Interpolation is discussed.

The college held a Religion Emphasis Week, including a speech by Karla LaVey, whose father, Anton LaVey, was the founder of The Church of Satan.
