Scott shares his journey from moving to San Diego at a young age, growing up riding BMX and later mountain bikes, to building a career in design and branding. He takes us inside the launch of his tire company, Versus, and what it takes to build something from the ground up in today’s market.
We get into his time working in the skate industry with Plan B, along with his involvement with various brands over the years. Scott talks about meeting Ronnie Bonner at the ASR Trade Show in 2001 and working closely with him on logos and designs over the years. He also shares the difficult news of Ronnie’s illness, reflecting on the recent memorial weekend he attended and the incredible support shown for Ronnie and his lasting contribution to BMX.
Scott also talks about current times riding BMX with his son Monty, who is now fully into racing. From starting in the beginner league at San Diego BMX in late 2023 to continuing to come back week after week, it’s come full circle. He also shares details on his latest bike, a chromoly Supercross OS20 built for his 50th birthday.
